The Car: Toyota Supra RZ '97

Engine: 3.0 Litre L6: DOHC
Drivetrain: FR
Power: 834bhp @ 5600rpm
Torque: 775.37ft.lb @ 3600rpm
Weight: 1253kg

The Nürburgring Nordschleife posses a challenge to any car and to get the most from it requires a solid setup, good temperament and driving skills to match. The Supra RZ '97 once fully tuned can be difficult to master, with 834bhp going through the rear wheels it can tough to control on the bumpy and uneven surfaces that are found on the infamous tarmac of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The Challenge........ I am setting myself to record a lap time equal to 6 minutes or less while staying within the rules required by the GTP Leaderboard along with no use of wings, NOS or ASM. Pictures and .max format replays (PAL) will be provided during the challenge.

Session 1: Test Laps

My first session was just a short run to test the car and to find out where I needed to work the most on with setup. I knew the car was going to be a handful at first especially on the fast stretches between Hatzenbach all the way up to Adenauer-Forst. Having stiff suspension and dampers probably isn't good though the rear end springs are set soft to counteract the power.

Lap 1 - 7'08.596

Being cautious from the start line I stayed on track until nearing Aremburg and had several other spins and off track moments putting in a slow lap time of over 7 minutes. The car was quick through the more level stretches but I was just not able to push with the way the car was wanting to throw it's rear out over the bumps. I didn't even manage to match or beat my best of 6'47.198.

Lap 2 - 6'54.560

The second lap was faster as I was less aggressive keeping my speed lower so I could manage the car's jittery behaviour better, despite the caution I still had one or two major off's, the most spectacular one was at the end of the long straight after Antoniusbuche at 200 mph! :scared:

Midway through the third lap I decided to stop. The car at the moment is quite tough to drive to the point it's infuriating, from the replay I've provided for those that can see it the suspension needs a lot of work. The way it's handling at the moment there's just no way I can push. I think I'll also need a new dual shock as well :sly:

I think it's more important at the moment though to achieve a lap with no incidents first, then I can get a better idea where to work on in the setup. This may take a while to complete...... :D
