Interesting that they catagorized the Hyundai Sonata as a Premium car and the Ford Explorer Sport Trac as a "compact" pickup.

Even though the Prius is just plain rubbish at everything? I cannot stand the people that try and argue for the Prius when other cars do much better.

No I meant how is a Sonata more premium than the Ford Fusion? It just isn't. Nice car yes but not a luxury model. And the Genesis should win car of the decade, maybe the Gen Coupe--they are just serious brilliance. I'm now tooting the Korean horn now.

The Hyundai Sonata is a very good car. I drove one for a weekend and I must say that Hyundai is really on to a winner with that thing. The only reason I'd think twice about the car if I was in the market for something like that would be the fact that it is a Hyundai Sonata, and probably my love for Volkswagens. Although I do agree that it is a mainstream car, not a luxury car. That thing easily goes head to head with the Camry, Accord and Fusion.

The success of the Japanese on this list is pretty interesting though. I almost wonder if they had some weirdo way of setting up the categories. I also wonder if sales volume sets a bias toward stronger selling cars.

Also, what is an "Image Compact Car?" Does this prove that the Prius is little more than a gimmick? Are there any other vehicles that fit into this class, aside from maybe an R32?

So this is a satisfaction survey? For some reason I thought this had to do with desirability, to which few of those models made any sense whatsoever. But, obviously these owners love their cars, and props to them - if they can love their Liberty or their Sportage that much, God bless 'em.

I'm surprised there aren't more VWs and Subarus on there. They're perhaps the most-radical fan base of owners out there.

Oh and, w00t Fusion!

The car is actually quite nice... As long as you get the touring version like my sister.

The fully loaded Sonata is pretty premium. It's somewhere between a Camry and an ES. Pretty much on par with the Fusion, I'd agree.

Maybe the Fusion would've won if Ford actually let people sit in their cars at auto shows.

I hate Prii. I support the classification because the only thing it really has going for it is the image.

And, the Scirocco would be in that class, as may be the TT if you don't think it a sportscar. Probably the Volvo C30 as well, though no-one cares about that...
