I've been working myself up to this race, having only this and the 9 hours of Tsukuba left before the big 24 hour races.

Eventually settled on the Xanavi Nismo Z '06 as my car of choice.


As stock from the dealer apart from increasing the aero settings to max.

I'm going to use Racing Softs and try for a 6 lap strategy in the dry.

All aids are off except ABS at 1.

The overall average lap time was 2:13.4.

Especially for the other geeks and spreadsheet chart lovers, here's the lap times and the track moisture percentage plotted. Times in red and the track moisture in blue.


As you can see I didn't get on with the wet tyres at all really.

Win by 1 min and 58 sec, the Arta NSX is 2nd and I didn't get the rest, mostly lapped I think.

Seemed to be a bit of a glitch that the weather went back to dry and sunny after I'd suspended the race.

Not much reward in cr or xp, but some lessons learned, be kind to cold tyres after a pit stop, brake and turn in early at Degner, don't try and be clever at Spoon, don't take unnecessary risk trying to pass backmarkers.

EDIT: Looking again at the timing data we see that there are 3 distinct periods in the race and the average lap times are;

Pre-Rain (L1 to L69)

Thats pretty sweet.
Heartbeat of pit stops looks pretty healthy to Doc Bundy.

One nice effect would be to remove the lap times for In an Out laps and then mark a line for what is effect your Average lap time - (Gets complex with the wet track bit I guess. But you can mark on laps that were dry laps only.)

I will try that Ryk if I can get time. You can see I was a good bit quicker on today's session (lap 100 to finish) with 6 sub 2 minute laps in the dry. I might work out the average before the rain and after.

I was getting better at the best line and the speed to carry into each corner.

Don't think I'll be running it again though. I'll stick to Grand Valley and the Nurburgring 4 hours if want to do an enduro (the xp is much more at the Ring as well).
