Hey guys, I have an Obutto Ozone at the moment and ive been thinkni about doing a homemade cockpit like Waysides or Chilicokes, along the lines of them. Is there anyway i can incorporate these two together without having the Obutto laying around ?

Here is the cockpit at the present stage.

Would it be easier just to mod the handbrake to the Obutto?

Sure it'd be easier. Cheaper, too!

But there's really nowhere easy to mount it on the Obutto, you'd have to fabricate some sort of mounting bracket, then fabricate the handbrake. But if you've already got materials and tools on-hand to do that, why not go all out?

Because let's face it - nobody in their right mind would argue that the Obutto, as good as it is, can hold a candle to a properly done homebuilt setup.

Yeah, it would be easy to mod the handbrake to the obutto but as Teh_Loserer said id have to fabricate some sort of box..
No doubt its an excellent cockpit, had no problems with it so far, but i just like the thought of a homemade one.

I was thinking of just pulling out the seat and some parts off of it to incorporate into the new one.
I guess im just going to have to plan ALL of it out so it might take awhile or i just might leave it as it is, and just add to it or just figure out a way to mount and fabricate a box for it.

But still if you have have any ideas, id be glad to listen.

If you're wanting to attach something to the Obutto, you could probably drill a couple of holes into the shifter mount arm (the part that detaches,) and bolt something on that way. Hell, you could use MDF and build a bolt-on center console, complete with drink holders!

<_< Why didn't I think of this when I was at home, looking at mine and trying to figure out how to do it?

Hey mate thats a good idea !, i will honestly take that into consideration. Ill have to plan it out.. Thanks mate.

Here's a thought: instead of drilling holes in the metal, use u-bolts. You'd just have to tighten the **** out of 'em though, to keep the e-brake assembly from rotating.

Aah yes i see what you mean. I was thinking about making another stand out of wood/metal and bolting it to the holes were the shifter mount is under the seat, like the holes that arnt being used if you get what i mean. Then having it coming up the side just beind the shifter..
Love the tip though mate, id better start planning soon.
