hi, iv just got my ps2 and played enough to get a good car for drifting, and im doing fine until i saw that stupid blinking thing at the bottom of the screen that says asm and tcs. now i have the feeling im being controlled and i dont drift.. so i try to turn it off, and it wont go off! i switch the things off at the options menu and press triangle, and get back, but the thing is still on and working, blinking whenever i try to drift. how do i turn it off? it has to be my problem because i couldnt turn it off on my friends cd too

Welcome to GTPLANET. To turn that off go into the car settings and the last icon and it has TCS and ASM and just set these to 0.

Enjoy your stay:)

thanks! il go try that..

and i just started playing it again, on my r33, there is this funny light on the indication thing (the box that says asm tcs *some funny box thing* *a flower pot*) the flower pot looking thing just came on today, what is it? time to change the oil? im sorry im not so much of a car mechanic

i find that having the tcs on zero makes the drifting very unreal. I prrefer it be on one and the asm on 0. That way when u start u dont just spin unrealistly

Busy! What can I say except busy... It's starting to dry out here which is giving me a chance to try my hand at dry-road drifting. It's a LOT different from drifting in the rain/snow! You gotta have nerves of steel. Unless you're lucky enough to have a skidpad or somewhere "safe" to practice.

Anyway, I wouldn't say I'm "back." I've been visiting the forums every few days for a while now, but usually don't see any threads that interest me. I think most of the people on this forum have different ideals than me. Not that it's a bad thing, but I'm just not interested in most of the stuff that is talked about here anymore.

Also doesn't help that my GT3 disc is scratched beyond use. My friend brought over his GT3 not long ago and I almost got a lap in on TM2 for the competition! It just wasn't happening though. Oh well.

i drift alot in real life and in the games (safer, ....damn cops).
The only reason i believe that leaving the tsc on one is better, is because in real life you never... never start with the rear sliding! Unless you you have a very low IQ, or lack lack serious car control skills.

FWD cant REALLY drift, the e-brake drift isn't considered a drift. Ask the king himself and he'll tell you the same. Sorry, I know my drifting be it virtual, or in my turbo fiero (sub 12sec 1320, 275rwhp) . Real drivers can control the mid-engines in a drift, its all about the balance.

I'm not sure how your comment about TCS relates to the part about entering the drift early. If you mean doing a burnout into the drift, it's called a powerslide. It's a beginner move, and does the trick fine if executed nicely. Race drifting may be your style but that doesn't mean I have a low IQ or lack of skill for doing it my own way.

Additionally, using the e-brake is one of the fundamental techniques described in the drift king's Drift Bible. He advises that it is a good learning technique, like power sliding. A person who limits themself is not truly one with the car. Mastery of driving (I am not implying that I'm a drift master) requires use all means available to you to achieve a total balance. Always drive a manual, TCS off, ASM off. In fact, turn off ABS while you're at it. It's all garbage if you know how to drive.

Couldn't have said it better myself:)
