Syd Barrett died on Friday, he had diabetes and he died of complications because of this.
Syd was born in British Cambridge in 1946 as Roger Keith Barrett. Together with Roger Waters, he started the band Pink Floyd in 1965 and became world famous when 21 years old. Because of his drugproblems, behaviour and instability, he left the band in 1968.
The song called "Shine on you crazy diamond" was written by Roger Waters and dedicated to Syd Barrett.
In the beginning of the seventies, Syd released two soloalbums but after these he became silent in the musicworld.
