Where do you keep your system?
Is it on the floor? A carpet floor maybe?
I propose keeping a game console on a carpet floor will kill your system over time.

Just my guess, what do you think?
Where do you keep your system?

Also, what do you all think of the idea that "air quality" plays a role in a system's physical lifespan (or frequency of repair/maintainance)?

Thanks for your time.
Please discuss.

I have my system on a hardwood floor.

Carpets are dangerous, they should outlaw them, I once nearly choked on a fuzzy! :scared:

Either on my desk next to the pc or on the bedside table. At my parents place it was on carpet floor..

The static electricity from the carpet will mess up your console over time, and it's also a tripping hazard.

Oh, hmmm good excuse to get a 360, then I'll put it on a shelf.

my PS2 is horizontal on a shelf and my 360 is vertical on the floor but it is on a piece of wood, my 360 also has the INTERCOOLER for improved airflow.

It is also the dust from the carpet, you try running your PC on the floor for a week, open it up, and you will see just how much crap gets sucked up, a console is the same.

Mine usually sits on the coffee table if I'm using it at home, or on my lap if i'm using it on the road (I have the 8" LCD for my PS2, with the cig lighter adaptor...and no, I do not play it while driving, that would seriously affect my lap times)

All of my consoles rest comfortably in their own individual spot in my entertainment system.

The 58'' HDTV sits atop of them all with Bose speakers on either side of the TV. Underneath the television is where my Xbox 360 and Sony PS2 stand vertically beside one another. Below them is the Bose home theater system core for the surround sound and above it sits the Xbox.

I dust this whole area every Friday when peak gaming will be going on over the next two days. Well, that's at home at least. I would never be able to fit all of that in my dorm. :/

Yes, if I had posted pictures of it. Instead, I'm just bragging.

I wouldn't even say that though. I'd say I was making an effort to make a more quality written post. I thought I'd explain in some detail where my consoles lay instead of typing in something like, "I keep them in my entertainment system." To me, it felt better to post a descriptive composite of my console setup instead of a one liner.

I KEEPZ THEM IN I'S ENTRAINMNT CNTR!!!LoLZ xD

Really my PS2 sits on a shelf under my TV, I Don't have any other systems :(

From,
Wall :D

I just fitted a new DVD-RW drive to my PC. While the front and side were off, I dusted the front and side vents.

The CPU used to average about 52 degrees. Its now at 47! And yes, it sits on the carpeted floor.

Mine is inside the cabinet under the television, along with the cables and peripherals. My games however, are located right next to my computer.
