System recovery help

Hello I was going to do a system recovery on one of my computers today but when i stick the cd in and start windows up it just loads the regular windows it dosnt start the recovery.

? any help?

You can either:

1. Set BIOS boot sequence to boot from CD-ROM first

2. Press a key (usually F12) at the startup logo (i.e. the Dell logo if you have a Dell) then choose to boot from CD-ROM

I believe you have to press 'R' or something to the like under XP's Installation Disc Menu when installing from the CD. Of course, that's only if you have XP... Any other version of windows I have no idea about.

On my Compaq PC it's the F8 key. It should say at the bottom of the logos which to press for System Recovery.

That sounds about right. R is for Windows Repair installation I think.
