I can't find my system32 file on my computer. Is there any way I can get it back or is it hiding somewhere?

I'm no computer genius, but I'd have expected that windows is hiding it.

I think it's best that your computer doesn't have this file...

Here's a possible fix.

That's what I thought. I always thought system32 was just a folder under the windows directory. I googled it and got a load of virus info.

tools>folder options>view>show hidden files & folders

just what i was about to say

i hate going into system32, i did that once, next time i start my computer:

Some system files are missing or damaged, you cannot log on at this time

so i was unable to use my computer for a week

don't touch system32 if you don't know what you are doing

i wanted to change the boot screen on me computer & had to put files in sysytem 32 to do it

i do know what i'm doing now, but before i accidently deleted something i think

the other day i succesfully installed COMDLG32.OCX into system32, i followed This, because some programs wouldn't work without it

and yesterday i sucessfully installed COMCTL32.OCX, with This with the alternative way because gt2 edit wouldn't work without it
