Have spent a good deal of time today searching for an answer to this before posting.

I just got my Thrustmaster T500RS wheel set up today, brand new, running GT5, hooked it up to my PS3 and it just spins right to left and never stops. I guess it's supposed to be calibrating?

I downloaded the GT5 update onto my PS3, thinking that might fix it. But it didn't. Also does it with the 2012 F1 game.

I'm a noob here in the gaming world. Have been doing trackdays on bikes and watching a lot of F1 races before this and I thought I'd give this a shot.

So, is there something (firmware) I need to actually download onto the wheel itself through the USB? Is that even possible?

I went all around the Thrustmaster Tech Support site and only saw PC downloads available.

Spent most of today searching this board and various boards all over.

I'm freaking lost, I'll just admit it. :)

Any help is appreciated!

And, yes, I'm calling Thrustmaster (whatta name...) in the morning.

Thanks fella's,

JJ

So do I need to attach a PC to the wheel itself via USB? (like I said, new to this)

I saw those downloads but didn't get them because I've a Mac--but I can borrow one, no worries there.

Yep. Just do exactly what it says on that page and in the order it says. :)

No problem. Good luck and I hope it fixes the issue.

I have no idea if mine would have done it when purchased it recently. I had read a lot on here and knew about the update, I figured I should do that first to eliminate any possible issues ahead of time. :)

FYI, I did use the slow auto-calibration mode as mentioned above, in addition to the updating to V.40. Worked very well.
