Besides being the best wheel on the market, and I personally are probably going to buy it, there is something I have been wondering about. The gearshifter was to expensive to be included in the package, according to Thrustmaster. Granted the T500RS is VERY expensive, but how much can a standard gearshifter cost to make. It's a metal rod, a metalplate, some plastic, a wire and some small cheap electronics... And then it hit me. What is the ONLY thing missing from the gearshifter, and no I am not refering to a handbrake (although that would be cool too)? No, this is way cooler and much more important, if I am right. What IF, and this IS a big if, they are planning to release a full force feedback gearshifter. What's the point you may ask... If you use the the G25, and I have, you will notice that when you shift with the clutch, and you let go of the clutch too early, the game throws you into neutral, but the shifter is still in the correct gear position. This is anoying to say the least. A force feedback system would ensure that you will not get the shifter into gear if you let go of the clutch to early. Also the amount of possible gear postitions can be automatically changed by GT5. So a 4 gear car only has 4 possible gear positions. What do you guys think? Would a properly functioning gearbox be desireably?

Wow, never thought about that. That would be great. They should add the sound that you hear when a gear doesnt enter. An handbrake will be great too.
Do you know a feature that will look astonishing in this set: GT5/T500RS? The possibility to let the car turn off/on (i didnt know the correct expression in english). For example: if you release the clutch to fast in the first gear with the car on ralenti the car should turn off. Then you should be able to turn it on again. That way you could feel the balance between acelerator and clutch to have a better start.

The correct term in english , is to stall the engine .

Yeah I'll wait for insidesimracing.net.

That gadget review seemed rubbish, and I can't see another review of a decent wheel by the same guy.

Edit: The product sounds good :), I just don't think much of the reviewer. I have a G27, and would really like to know if I should be doing an upgrade.

ikarys there's a whole thread in this same subforum of Steering Wheels & Cockpits that really has every single person saying that it is, by far, the best wheel they have ever used even compared to their Fanatecs or G27. That's straight from the horses' (notice plural possessive yeah) mouths, doens't get more neutral and accurate of opinions then that.

Bottomline: It seems to be, relatively by far, the best wheel on the market to date indeed.

Hmm I'll have a look for it. I think this thread was moved from the GT5 section of the forum. I have not read any other sections yet.

Yeah if you chose to believe that companies like ECCI, FREX, TSW and a plethora of others do not actually exist.

The ECCI Trackstar 7000 is supposed to be the baddest FFB wheel out there. I didn't think it worked with the PS3 though. Also, is it available for public purchase yet?

not sure. seeing as most of the ultra high end wheels still work on the HID standard, I wouldnt mind seeing them tested with ps3. who knows?
