T500RS GT style pedals with wheel stand pro.

I am aware someone has done this but not without modifications. I am not comfortable drilling holes in my wheel stand. Is there a simple way to achieve this pedal setup without too much hassle? If not what is exactly preventing it from being done? I do not have my T500 or stand in front of me as both are on the way in the mail.

The simplest way I can think of, is to tie them together with the WSP using a string or something similar. I'm not sure how good a solution that is though.
