I have a new Alienware Alpha with Windows 8.1, and when I plug in the wheel USB (in any of the 4 USB ports) I get a message that the USB device is not recognized. I've downloaded the 2015_TTRS_2 drivers, and my wheel has V43 installed. I've also downloaded the Th8RS shifter, and the T. flight stick X drivers and they both work on this computer. Wheel is recognized on a Windows desktop (Windows 7) I own, but not on my laptop, also with 8.1. Wheel also works with my PS3. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thrustmaster says the problem is definitely of a local software nature. I've downloaded the latest drivers to no avail. I've called Dell, but can't understand what they are saying (bad English). No e-mail support is available for this alienware. Help! Update: It was the USB extension cable.
