Does anyone have an idea when the H-shifter for this wheel is coming? Normally it's against my principals to give EUR500 for a wheel, but I saw one at the store today and got to say, damn!! That thing works great.

Coming from a dfp, i tried a g27 from a friend of mine. Love the feel of that wheel plus the shifter is the sherry on the cake. Now, the t500rs is in another league, but... Stil no shifter with it. So, back to the original question. Any idea when the shifters are coming out?

not gonna pay $600 (US) for a wheel w/out a shifter... just saying/.....

besides the paddle shifters are fixed to the base and not to the wheel, so shifting while turning is super-hard....

still, I'm like you, trying to justify the purchase...

P.S. Jessica is HAWT. please sub these guys on youtube.

Paddle shifter is fixed to the base? Like the real cars have? It's a question of habit. You quickly get used to them :)

T500RS is THE wheel to get. Those that cannot afford it, stop ranting about not willing to pay 500€ for it!

If you can, buy it!
If not, love it and wait for 2º hand ebay price drop and then...buy it! 👍

Yeah they still haven't officially announced when the shifter is coming out or even given a rough estimate as far as I know.

Ref the shifter...

Gamers will notice that having 3 pedals at their disposal not only enhances the level of realism, but it also gives them a taste of what’s to come with the addition of an independent gear stick, which will also be available from Thrustmaster in the coming months.
I'd of thought E3 would of been a good place/time for this to appear.
However so far Thrustmaster do not seem to be listed even as an exhibitor yet.
Arrives when it does but keep in mind the shifter is an individual USB device so they can sell this to Logitech/Fanatec PC users.
What hasn't been discussed and may be of interest that as a seperate USB device and if it utilises a "PS" button then it might be possible to be combined with other wheels also on some PS3 games as "controller 1" input with whatever wheel you are using.

+ 1

After play with this I will not return to any other Fanatec or Logitech (of the actual market).

But really Thrustmaster should show us anythink about the shifter: one picture, diagrams, any anouncement about features, a launch date... This could help to new users to take the decission of to buy it.

I'm still super confused why they didn't release all the components on day one, although it does lend itself to a theory that GT5 was pushed out well before it was supposed to be.

Just seems that if the shifter already exists then they would want to show it off, and if they haven't made it yet then there's going to be a million and one problems with not having the time to properly test it etc..

All this being said, I would pay some serious money for a shifter with FFB, but if it's just a regular shifter (even of high quality) I won't bother to upgrade.

What? You want a FFB shifter? What do you think it should do? And which game would support it? Come on, get real :)

Pop into neutral when miss shifting.

Thank you very much.

Thrustmaster has announced two different shifters now available

Kidding

I will only buy it for $600 if it came with two separate shifters, one sequential and one 6-speed:rolleyes:

I just received my much delayed Fanatec shifters - what a toylike load of carp they are. Didn't even bother hooking them up - I use an Act-LABS shifter with the T500 on the PC, I can wait for the TM shifter.

Seriously though, it better be way ahead of these Fanatec junkers - even the G25 shifter is better than the Fanatec ones. Extremely unnatural notchy movement. It would be more of a detraction than assist for me if I did use them.

TM better have something better than the cheesy sequential sticks they have on some of their current wheels.

The idea of a force feedback stick shifter would be rather cool with bad shifts popping back into neutral. I wonder how the power would be supplied though, if it were powered through USB then great, but another power cord my rig can do without.

Judging by the build quality of the wheel and pedals, I expect the shifter to be damn good and will do what I can to get it on day one.

My gut says on the PS3 this level of benevolent interchangeability is not likely...

The reason I mentioned it is you can use a PAD and the wheel at the same time. Okay you cant steer but other mapped buttons work. It just requires having both set to "Controller 1" which the wheel does anyways when you plug it in.

So technically any PS3 controller that has a "PS" button allows you to connect it also on the "Controller 1" input.
The buttons/contacts will do what they are mapped to do in the game as they are pressed.

Time will tell if this works on PS3 or not with other wheels but technically it is possible.
It may be that only sequential will work but I hold out hope.

New games this year should however hopefully support the wheel inc shifter properly on PS3.
Shift 2 is the BIGGIE and boy if that releases with no support for T500 their is going to be plenty of noise.

If I wasn't so constrained by the desire to race on consoles too, I'd be taking a hard look at an Act LABS or Lightning SST shifter.

The Fanatec shifters are hollow and plastic and a surprising contrast to the build of the wheel. You can see where the R&D went. Here's a hint: it wasn't the shifter. I also find the way they mount to the wheel to be unacceptable. If you can hard mount them, they're usable and work well. The Fanatec H is notchy, but positive. I like it more than the G25 shifter and less than the G27 shifter.

To give Fanatec their due, they are allegedly releasing a clubsport shifter. If you compare their standard pedals to their clubsports, it should be good.

But for god's sake TM, like Rebla says; give us a pic, a diagram, something!

I suggest everyone posts in the when's the shifter coming thread on their facebook page (discussion)

Possibly/probably beating a dead horse here; this is the oldest post I saw after a quick search.

Here's bumping that the T500RS facebook page does show some brief comments from an apparent TM rep:
-6speed sequential & H style, swappable, was in development and continues to be so. It's likely in the testing/production phase but the rep isn't releasing that info, confidentiality and whatnot.
-USB connection, either to (included? no info) USB hub or PS3 directly. Rep hinted @ USB hub also in development

Personally, it was good news just to find actual info on the web about this. Or maybe I'm just slow to the news. Cheers!
