Hi everyone,
Thought I would post a 'quick fix' I came up with recently for auto-calibration of the Thrustmaster T500RS. Like a lot of others my T500RS wheel recently stopped calibrating correctly after about 4 months of use. If I let it do its thing without my input it either calibrates 20 degrees to the left or 20 degrees to the right. Well the night after it started happening I tried something and it's actually quite simple.
You've probably noticed when the wheel spins to the right it hits the end stop with quite a "thwack". Well, the idea is to stop that from happening.
All you do is hold your fingertips on the bottom of the wheel when it begins its rotation to the right. This is just to slow it down a bit - you don't need much pressure. Once the wheel hits the end stop keep your fingers where they are and also slow the rotation back to the center.
It may take several goes but this actually works.
Luckily the wheel only seems to have three different positions: slightly to the right, slightly to the left or dead center. Once you hit the center one you are good to go.
Let me know how you get on.
