I got this game a while ago (and loved playing f1 2010) but gave up on it after a couple of races cause the back end slides out on me through every high speed corner. These are corners that in 2010 I could take at full throttle in any car with no tc on.
Is there any way I can get this to stop? I'm trying not to use tc.

I was using setups from one of these forums. But it has been a while so I'll look at it when I get home. I should also have mentioned that I have it on ps3

You're not using DRS are you? That's what it sounds like to me.

I thought it was drs not closing again as well, but ran a couple laps not using any drs and it still happened

Traction control in this game doesn't just affect low speed traction, it affects grip at high speed too. It's something wrong with the games coding in that it affects you in high speed corners, so you often have to lift where you would be flat with TCS on.

There isn't really anything you can do except lift ever so slightly or use more of the road so you're using less steering lock.

Ok. So basically it is just another part of the game that is basically broken. Thanks for the replies

This annoys me immensely. Mainly because I can handle no TCS in the slow, twisty sectors but when it comes to high speed corners I can't hold it.

This spoiled a race for me at Istanbul on the hardest difficulty while I was defending 6th place. On the last lap with Schumacher's Mercedes right on the rear of my dog of a Williams, and the damn thing decides to step right out on the multi-apex left hand sweeper, where it hadn't done before. As this was my 15th attempt I rage-quit and haven't played it since.

Yeah. And the throttle bogs.

Maybe your tires are going out, causing you to spin?

I'd say that's the case, it was just a combination of when it happened and the general oversteeriness (yeah it's a word, I just invented it) of the setup. Problem is, if I try to dial out the oversteer, the car just will not trail-brake into corners and hit the apex like I want it to. I'd have to say the feeling accurately mirrors what I've read/heard about the 2011 Williams, it just lacks downforce everywhere, especially when you've banzai'd your way into the top ten, and then you try to fend off faster cars for the bulk of the race.

Yeah, a Red Bull or McLaren will have a lot more downforce then a Williams. You just have to adapt your driving style to suit the car, a smoother style is probably better in a car like the Williams, as it results in less oversteer. In a car such as the Red Bull you can be a lot more aggressive without spinning.

I don't know how adaptable my style is unfortunately. I'm aggressive on turn in, I chuck the car over kerbs and can generally handle a bit of oversteer, it's just when the tyres start to go away (especially the hards) I'm kinda screwed. I'll have to work on not pushing the car as hard, though often it seems like the only way to get the Williams into points position.

Is the Williams the trickiest of the established teams cars to drive?

Yeah, it's definately the trickiest of the established teams. Keep in mind that in real life Williams only got 5 points in the entire season, so scoring points at all on expert is actually pretty good.

The tires have a good amount of grip up to a certain point, then they hit a wall where the grip goes down quite a bit. I did a test at Valencia on this using once. I went for about 8-11 laps (dont't remember the exact amount)(50% race) on options doing good consistent times. The next lap I spun three times, driving just as hard as before. That's how the tires can be. They get to a point where you just have to drive really carefully. You have to chose to lose 3-5 seconds driving cautiously, or risk losing 10-30 seconds spinning.

Set F/R wings to 11, F/R antiroll bars to 11, F/W ride height to 1, F/R spring stiffness to 11, gears 1-4 to max, then descend the remaining gears (will vary depending on track), set F/R camber 3 notches to the left, and set F/R toe values all the way to the right. See where that gets you lol

Yeah maybe lol I just know it usually works out pretty well for me lol haha check out the thread labeled "Any tips.". I wrote some helpful information in that thread as well.
