Hi you all.

Yesterday I completed the 24h Nurburg (b-spec). I just was curious about the filesize of the savegame so I saved it. It was 25Kb ?! How is it possible to store a 24h replay in 25Kb of data? I have absolutely no clue. Can someone shed some light over this. I still can't believe this.....

It's not storing 24h. At a certain point in the race (not sure when, but I thinks it's less than an hour) a message flashes on the screen with a notice that 'Replay Recording Complete' or something like that. If you watch the replay, it'll end there. The same happened in endurance races in previous GT's as well.

I don't think it saves the whole replay. You should see a message come up on screen at some point through the race (In A-spec anyway) saying "Finshed recording replay"

Ok I understand :-)
Still, even if it is just 1 hour...it's an amazing piece of wizardry IMHO....compared to other games (several MB's for a quick save sometimes.....)

Well what GT4 does is just save key inputs and stuff like that, it doesn't actually save the "video". So what it does when you view it is it basically reruns the race using all the same inputs that were used in the original. At least, that's all I can figure. It's a computer, so everything should theoretically run the same. I've had replays in other GT's before where because of this approach it missed something and it threw off the whole shebang. My car got stuck in a wall and was turning around randomly on the track because the timing was off so bad.
