which track do you like to practice and test your settings on?

I tend to use apricot hill the most. It has hills and plenty of corners with out too many hairpins (tho there is a slow corner in there) :)

when ever i make changes to a car i test them there :)

I never test my settings..I just slap on all the mods, lower it, change the gear ratio if needed, and then race a series that i need to beat with it. If it has some kind of problem, i just fix it at the start of the next race. ^_^

i do speed at test course, then to complex string.

Usually Laguna Seca for me because it shows up any Understeer through the Long Sweeping Corners..:curvyrd:

Then you can test your Braking before the Corkscrew...:stopsign:

And check out any oversteer on that last corner where the back end starts to loosen? :spin:

Does anyone test on Midfield?

:viper: Guy Testing on Complex String is probably a very good idea? I should do that to get more practice when attempting the Time Trial? :clock:

Now, there's a scientific approach. Enjoy.
I try to test at Apricot Hill, for the reasons mentioned above. If it's a car with some legs, Grand Valley is good too.

Trial Mountain will really highlight problems with the dynamic balance of the car, such as spring/damper combinations, etc.

I use Midfield to test my settings. It was by far my favourite track in GT2 (I used to make all my $$$ on that track). Plus it is a track which I can almost drive blindfolded which is good when you are testing settings so that you can really see when you are driving good or not.

well, usually, when i actually change the settings, i have to use the qualify.
otherwise: Complex String for acceleration / handling, Test Course for top speed.

I like using all the "Run and Settins" tracks for various settings....midfield and test track for speed etc etc etc :)

laguna seca...i know that track the best so i can judge settings well there

I hate Laguna Seca the sand is sooo annoying...One wheel goes off and boom ur spinning around and around and around and then you hit the wall and lose tons of time and lose the race...

i am begining to like seca now... but it has taken time to grow on me

I agree Trial Mountain or maybe SS11 are good choices for testing settings.

I tend to use the qualifying to test any settings out. I'll run a few laps of a race to see how my car measures up to the competition, restart and tune it more appropriately, then run the qualifier.

I'll tune it to be more competitive to the other cars.

Although I've done some extensive tuning at Trial mtn. recently.

It depends on what I wanna test... generally test course for speed.... complex string for overall and apricot hill for a bit of drifting.

Laguna Seca allows me to test most of the settings on a car. As mentioned above, you can get a handle on understeer, oversteer, braking, etc.

Deep Forest (I & II) are what I use to check a car's balance.
