Hi guys. Sorry if this was already covered.

I fired up Assetto Corsa, Thrustmaster T300 and gear shifter TH8A. Checked all devices in control panel, everything works fine. But when i launch the game shifting doesnt work. I cant move at all as its in neutral. I dont have a clutch pedal (yet) but double checked i have set on auto clutch.
in settings there are no t300 presets. Wizard doesnt see my h-shifter.
in AC control setting main screen, i have mapped shifting and tried with both when seperate shifter is ticked and when not. No changes.
Test car Mercedes SLS (tried almos all of them).

Please let me know, have i missed anything?

Cheers

is the Mercedes a stick car from the factory. If it isn't, I'm sure it isn't its not gonna work. Try it with the BMW drift car. I'm pretty certain I don't drive h-gate much, but I'm pretty sure the car your driving has to be a stick car, lotus 49, Shelby cobra, etc....

It's also possible the game recognizes that you don't have a clutch pedal and is deactivating the shifter because of that.

I would guess it's because you don't have a clutch. You go through the clutch calibration before the shifter so if you don't have a clutch mapped it ignores the hgate. Just a guess. I just got mine two days ago and it all worked fine first time. I have CSR Elite pedals with a clutch though.

Sorry I couldn't be more help

I can confirm that the TH8A in sequential mode works fine with a 2-pedal set. Plugged via USB into the PC. I didn't calibrate anything, just mapped shift up and down to the TH8A sequential and it worked immediately for all cars.

H-shifter mode requires the car to have a clutch pedal and H-box in reality. Any car without a clutch pedal won't let you shift with H-box, you have to use paddles or sequential.

I am now running AC with T300, TH8A and Fanatec clubsport pedals (3 separate USB devices): No calibration needed, just map each function in the controller profile to the appropriate device. You can map the paddle shifters on the T300 to sequential up/down and the 7+Reverse on the TH8A to those gears in parallel to each other, which means a single profile handles all types of cars.
Then in game make sure auto-clutch is disabled, and you simply either use clutch+H or use paddles depending on whether that car has a clutch in real life. For some cars it's a surprise (e.g. I found the Z4 road car was paddles not manual). The Lotii are all great fun with H-shifter, although shifting down to second requires you to blip while downshifting or risk spinning the car :)
