Starting July 15, the Thai government plans to set a curfew preventing online gamers from playing after 10pm.

Thailand's Information and Communications Technology Minister announced this week that the Thai government plans to block access to domestic and foreign online game servers between 10pm and 6am from July 15 to September 30, according to a report by The Straits Times.

The Internet cafes where online games are commonly played will also have their hours restricted, in an attempt to prevent children from spending excessive time playing the games. The Korean game Ragnarok Online is a particular target of the government's attention, due to its sudden popularity in Thailand, where 600,000 players have signed up in the seven months since the game's introduction. The effectiveness of the curfew will be evaluated after September 30, and stricter measures could be considered.

Wow thats a way to cut down on people playing games. :odd:

Life without games = as good as dead for me.
Curfew on games = I guess it could work if they want to curb those late-night gaming sessions.

But in a way, it's pretty funny for this to happen IMO. People these days get so addicted to things ( think GTP ).

Me = GTP addict.

What kind of law is that? Who enforces it? Japan isn't a police state.

I agree with the Thai government its disgusting that these people are in playing games all night when they could be out doing something constructive like mugging, raping and drug dealing. Good on ya Thai government.👍

Shows what kind of problems all goverments are up against though. Stop one thing and start another.

Im sure people that want to play that bad will just find an offline game to play after the curfew or whatever.

Yeah really... if you guys are that desperate to play games then maybe it's good to make people get "disconnected" sheesh... Online... I have a hard time sticking to offline games, even GT3 now but when GT4 come out that might change a little.
