Is the helmet of the left driver Vettel's helmet? If so, we might get one more F1 suit soon...

Edit: More pictures

Edit 2: If you drive this car in arcade, it puts you in this suit automatically.

Imagine how annoying would be if every driver did it

Indeed! Hamilton keeps the same base livery, but does change quite a bit of other stuff on his lid. And every now and again some wear one-offs (usually for charity auctions after) or replicas (Kimi wearing a Hunt replica for example). Hopefully the permanent driver numbers this season will help us out figuring out who is who.

Several drivers have a one-off for the Monaco GP for example.

I have always used the board camera to recognise the drivers. Black one was the N1 driver (Vettel, Alonso, Button, Räikkönen, Rosberg and so on), yellow was N2 driver. Now for next year we will see soon. Maybe there will be board cameras again or a big number to recognise.
To return to the topic point, yes, it's an interesting helmet. I hope we can have this special clothes in a further update, but I'm not looking forward to it xD

Not "always" you haven't, it's only been like that for a season. Previously one was red, one yellow. Before that they were all provided in black.

Every single helmet with a Red Bull logo is Vettel's. The guy's changing his helmet so often he might as well get it changed every pitstop he does next season.

Maybe I should have said "I always use" in my post above because it would make more sense. Anyway, I watch Formula 1 since 1997, which means since I was 5. Do you think I don't know that? It was never e problem to me to recognise the drivers. But you're right, they didn't have different board camera colors all the time. Before that was the case I recognised the drivers because of their helmets. Back then they didn't change the helmet colors often, so you could easily differentiate the drivers. Also the numbers were better visible. Since 2007 I use the board camera to see which driver is in it. This is a very good help when two drivers have similar helmets, like Rosberg and Hamilton or, I think it was at the Abu Dhabi GP, Vettel and Webber. :D

Not sure if it's Vettel's helmet, looks more like a general Red Bull can helmet...

That's something I really dislike about the Red Bull driver program, they pretty much make everyone wear a Red Bull can on their head... And I think Vettel has been in their driver program for so long, he probably doesn't even have his own design, if you look closely, all his helmets are variations on Red Bull can and there is a basic design that's on (pretty much) every helmet. The stuff he adds on top of that often sorta blurr out the basic design, but the Red Bull can stuff remains on pretty much every helmet.

I can understand why the FIA were planning/are planning(?) to ban the constant helmet design changing, if the T-cams weren't colored, you'd pretty much be unable to see who is in each car (as it seemed that car numbers were hardly visible aswel last (few?) season(s) ).

But to get back on topic... It would be cool if they'd add a (generic/Vettel) Red Bull suit and/or helmet to the game :) adds another tiny bit of variation to it all. Not that I would buy it, but there are many others that would....

I think every lead sponsor gets space on the drivers' helemets. Red Bull are a drinks company who provide the financial backing for their motorsport teams. Why would you dislike or like the branding on the helmets? It's just to be expected.

What is a "board cam"?

He means the on-board cameras. Every car has to carry them on request or they carry an empty module of the same shape/weight.

To differentiate between team cars the lead driver uses one colour, the second driver the other. Last year they were black/yellow, the year before they were red/yellow (for Merc that matched the drivers' "colours" very nicely :) ).

True, but with Red Bull, almost the entire helmet looks like their cans... There's hardly any space left for a personal design. Therefore, in my opinion, the helmets used by their drivers lack any form of 'personality'. Of course Vettel is a slightly different case, Red Bull is so far up his ass their feet aren't even sticking out anymore... So he can get away with pretty much anything.. But I'll stop... My hate for Vettel/Red Bull is boiling up too much :p

Was this helmet not in GT5 as well? I seem to remember a very similar helmet (if not the same one) was worn by the Arcade Mode driver when driving the Red Bull X2010 or X2011.
