Is anyone planning or interested in going to this year's British Motorshow in London? The show runs from 20-30th July, but I will be going along on Sunday 23rd July. This year's show takes place at the ExCel exhibition complex in Docklands, London - and is easily accessible via Tube/DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

If you intend to go or have already booked, and would like to meet up with other GTP members who are also going, let us know here. 👍

Sunday July 23rd

Important: If you are under 18 years old and intend to come along and meet up with people you haven't met before, please seek permission from a parent or guardian

I've not decided if I'll be going yet, I might take a day off and get the train down, but I've not decided yet.

There's a British Motorshow this year? Cool! First I'd heard of it.

Yeah, I intend to go, just got to remember to get a ticket.

Get a group of 10 of us together and we can get a discount :)

How much are tickets? The place is right around the corner from my college so I might have to give it a visit.

Whats the cut of age for children. I might take some disadvantage children from the neighborhood along. Get my browny badge.

Dude, the motorshow used to be held in the NEC here in Birmingham, but it got took away from us, now I can't go. We still have a similar event being held in Gaydon called 'Supercar Sunday' on the 18th June, anyone going? I am, it is being held at the Heritige Motor Centre. If you are willing to pay a small fee for charity you get to go in a fast car, last year I went in a Chevy Stingray :sly:

I will be sure to post some pics!

BTW, tickets are £12 in advance/£14 on the door for an adult, £7/£8 for a child, unless you go on the first day, in which case it's more beans.

*bump*

I'll be going on Sunday 23rd, so I'll see you there, TM! Might be a bit knackered though - going to a big birthday party the night before :)

Here's a tip for you guys going to the show. A mate of mine tried this successfully a few years back at the NEC. Go to the show suited-and-booted, take one of those clip-on identification badges with your picture on (like the ones you get when you visit some large corporations) Make up a company name, some kind of automotive engineering/design companies would work best, design a logo etc. It works best if theres a few of you with the same badges, those stands where they usually don't let plebs in will be excessible and you are more likely to be able to sit in the cars that are usually locked on the open stands. :sly:

It works, honest!

Well I woner if my Mum will let me go to London by myself and get blown up by terroists on a Train?

Seriously, I'd love to come, but I'm only 14 and I won't be allowed unless I pretend to go somewhere else and get picked up by someone from Bath :indiff:

^^another two years or so and Im sure you can go. Cant wait for this. Think I will just pay on the door though.

 Now, where's my suit? Unfortunately, my super-crap knowledge of the inner workings of cars might be a bit of a give-away... it's worth a try though... so thanks for the tip!!

Excellent Roo, I look forward to meeting you again :) 👍 I'll be the one in the suit... :D

I dont think I will be going, no audi, no porsche, whats the point.

Yes, I'm very disappointed that both Ferrari and Porsche are going to be absent... that's the last time they let Polyphony Digital organise the thing :grumpy:

I'm also very surprised that Audi and VW are staying away :(

Here are some pics I took (on my phone) at the show yesterday :)

Normally, the only time you see a BAR in as many pieces than this is after Takuma Sato had pranged it

More soon...👍

Didn't get quite as many pics as Roo - look forward to seeing some of his pics as well 💡 👍

Roo had a very Mini-oriented day - not least his T-shirt with the front of a Mini on, but also a young chap who approached us offering us the chance to win a Mini Cooper, to which Roo replied (genuinely) "No thanks, I've got one..." Finished off the day with a game of Scalextric, where Roo finished an admirable 2nd (racing a dark green Mini exactly like his real car), and myself a dismal 5th (out of 6 racers!). Hats off to Roo for managing to blag us both into the BMW Private Lounge, which was nice... (I mean, come on, do I look like I drive a BMW? :p )

By the way, there is some GT4 there, if you look hard enough - part of the Mazda stand ;) Although they are not linked :indiff:

Anyone bringing a camera? Take a pic of this baby:

McLaren. F1. LM. My all time favourite car...

I'm going to ask my dad if I can come before the show ends!

Well as you asked so nicely, here's the first of my photos: the Mclaren F1 LM.

They aren't the greatest ever - indoor shots rarely are for me - but I hope they suffice. There's another one as well, but I'm waiting for ImageShack to stop sulking to upload it.

Well, you seemed quite happy in the Z4 :D
