Mercedes has introduced a new Accord Coupe for 2012. Check it out:

The current Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe may be too large to rightfully compete with the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Audi A5, but the Silver Arrow is rectifying that with the new-for-2012 C-Class Coupe – a revival of the old CLK, if you will.

Aside from the slightly lower roofline and the removal of two doors, the C Coupe is exactly like its newly redesigned sedan brethren. There are three powertrains on tap, including a new 201-horsepower 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-four in the C250 and the direct-injected, 304-hp V6 in the range-topping C350. Well, range-topping for now – the sure-to-be-badass C63 AMG Coupe is set to debut in the very near future. Yeah, we're salivating.

Still, the more pedestrian C-Class Coupe will make up the vast majority of sales, and we're glad to see a modern-day CLK in production once again. Scroll through our gallery of high-res shots below and take it all in.
If Honda can't make a rear-drive Accord Coupe to compete with the BMW 3 and Audi A5, then maybe Benz's new Accord Coupe will do the job.

You know, he might be onto something:

Though it is probably quite a bit more accidental than the plagiarism that Hyundai and Honda keep doing towards each other.

Finally some attention. I realize this new C-class Coupe is hardly worth a mention, but I didn't realize it was that boring.

And it's not just me who noticed the resemblance. The whole of Autoblog noticed it; in fact, the very first commenter posted it. When that happens, you know you've got a flop of a car design. And all because of that kink in the rear window that is a dead ringer for the Accord Coupe - the only car that springs to mind with that particular design feature.

Dude, I made an entire thread about a carmaker where you do the building yourself, and no-one posted....

but, yes, the resemblance is somewhat striking, what with the "Reverse Hoffmeister" and all...though the headlights...the Accord squints while the Mercedes looks angry...

This is what the accord coupe looked like as a concept. If only honda left it alone. The few changes they made ruined the car. The Benz looks nice.

I have a lingering feeling that the Accord EX with a V6 and the 6MT box checked could be more fun to drive than the Mercedes.

LINGER AWAY.

So, since the E-Class Coupe is built on the C's chassis (after all the hooplah about it replacing the CLK, blah blah blah), there's now a C-Class Coupe built on... the C's chassis?

Oh Merc, here I was thinking you were done with the family feuds.

Really?... I mean (I can't make it) - owh LOL!

Anyway, I think the C-Class only looks good in a Saloon variant. Means I don't like how it looks now but the fuel consumption claimed by them is quite good...

I actually like that design. Sure, it's not breaking the mold or anything and might be perceived as a little dull, but it, at least, doesn't try to look different for the sake of being different.

I was actually wondering when a new C-Class Coupé came along. I think it was only a matter of time.

And, well... C63 AMG Coupé, now that sounds promising, in my opinion.

The C63 AMG coupé arrived with changes to the chassi, some new styling cues and two fewer doors, but packing the same engine, same feel and same price bracket of the sedan version, didn't it?

Here's the Black Series version then to spice things up a bit:

The new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé Black Series has leaked onto the internet a fortnight ahead of its official launch.

The car isn't due to be officially unveiled until the German grand prix a fortnight on Sunday.

Power will come from Mercedes' famed 6.2-litre V8 engine, rumoured to produce 510bhp and 472lb ft in the Black Series.
The car has also undergone a series of muscular styling changes over the 'standard' C63 AMG Coupé it is based on, including an aggressive body kit, quad exhaust pipes, new alloy wheels and body-coloured brake calipers for the larger disc brakes.

The chassis is also understood to have undergone an extensive makeover, with a revised suspension set-up chief among the changes.

It will be the fourth Black Series, previous models being based on the SLK, CLK and SL, the last carrying a massive £250k price. Both the SLK and SL had fixed roofs in place of the usual, folding metal designs.

I did like Jamie Costorphine's review of the standard C63 AMG coupe few months ago, and they still retained the wonderful baritono of that 6.2 for the black series version and added 60 horses and more overly muscular body parts. I like it.

Well strike a light. Keef is right about something!

I quite like the Mercedes though. The C-Class sedan is already quite a good looking car and I reckon the segment needs a proper coupe version since the CLC was just a glorified hatchback. Now they've got something in direct competition with the 3-series coupe and Audi A5.

As much as I love every recent AMG car, the lack of 3 pedals saddens me.

Who would put a gaping body kit like that on an Accord? It looks ridiculous.

That black is no where near as cool looking as the last one.

Also looking at them from the side...they look so remarkably similar...
