I am I the only one who thinks this championship is really hard?

I found a 206 s16 in the used car lot, tuned it a bit and entered Paris, came last by 9 seconds. So then I fully tuned it, and I still came last.

So then I tried Motorland, was 3rd for most of the race but the other s16's were pulling away all the time. If the CC and the RC weren't diving into the pit lane after overshooting the last corner then I probably would be last.

So then I sold me s16 and bought a brand new RC. I thought to myself, a mildly tuned s16 is hopeless, and so is a fully tuned one. So I thought I'd fully tune my RC hoping it would be good enough.
What happens? I came last. Again.

Now, I don't really "do" settings, as in, I dont alter suspension and brake balance and all of that stuff. I find it too complicated, so I just race the car with settings it already has. I found with both cars that the just wouldnt accelerate out of corners while turning.

I'm actually leaning towards getting a 206 Rally Car for an easy win....but I'm not into easy wins and especially not into using racing cars in stock car events.

Anyone else having problems with this one?

Yes I have just the same.

I bought that 206 RC and didn't tune it first because I thought, it will be an easy race.
I started the first race and it says 200 a-spec points, WOW. The games starts and they pull away. I go and fully tune my car and it still be 200 points, I don't get it. It looks like the AI drivers have other 206's as me. It's strange.

I think the best you can do is to see where you can win a 206 WRC and win it with that.

I just won that races yesterday with the 206 rally car and even with that car is very difficult, I had to tuned a bit. By the way I had to buy the 206 rally car because i think it is not a prize car.

Me too... :grumpy: ... i bought a Peugeot 206 S16 (Peugeot 206 GTI here at some countries in Europe), i tuned all, i put NOS too and... i was the last at Opera... :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: ...

But i will return with a better 206 :D :D :D :D and i will crush them

I havent yet entered the race, but how can some rc's turn out to be faster than a wrc? I am curious now...

Me too, I like hard real races, but this is a not fair race, you spen your money in a fully tuned 206 rc a it´s imposible to win.

I am having the same problem in the 206 series AND the Opel Spyder challenge.. I modded the Opel to the max and they still just pull away like I am dragging an anchor.......

Are you guys using DS2's ?? I've heard that FF cars are really hard to drive fast with DS2's. I've got a DFP and didn't have any problems with the 206cup with a tuned 206 RC, it wasn't easy though. Try turning the driving aids off if you havn't already i find these slow you down in FF cars :)

Where do yoU turn off the driving aids? In the car settings or in the general options?

How did you guys win the Opel speedster cup?

hmmm i focused on getting the beginner and pro events out of the way to get to extreme and get me to 25% for Endurance races.

i aint done much car events but it sounds hard.
i find the rallys harder in this game than gt3.
that 5 sec bullsh*! annoys me.!

i used stock 206RC with R tyres, and....won it
whenever it said 'no tyre restriction'
you have to get R tyre...doing other mod is useless

I had to use race tyres (hard compound) AND fully mod my RC, and it was still 170+ points per race!! I can't believe how s16's were pulling away from my fully tuned RC on straights!!! It's like they have a magical extra stage turbo kit or something. I had to beat them in corners, and even then it was a bit of a battle (they get away with softer tyres).

You turn the driving aids off in the car settings screen, I used a fully tuned opel speedster turbo and had no problems with the speedster cup

yes, the speedster cup gave me the most trouble, i under estimated that cup
first i entered with a stock speedster, then found out i can't win, and did some mod....can't win....i was so mad..and end up i put stage 3 turbo and R tyre and even NOS (just in case i get into an accident, i can recover faster)
normally i won't install NOS, but i was so mad about that speedster cup, it ate a lots of cash as well (since i played this in early stage where i dont have much cash), but ended up used like $15M just for that speedster cup!!

I fully tuned my 206 RC. Was only RC's and CC's in the cup.

Actually it was pretty easy, only track I had serious problems on was Suzuka where i misread the braking point 3 races in a row and threw away my 1st place :D

Good luck, just keep on trying - it will be far more rewarding than the easy win.

EDIT: Oh! By the way, i used R Hard in front and R Medium in the back on motorland, otherwise my tires would be toast by second-last lap.

Yeah it took time! i used 206RC fully tuned, with medium race all round.

make sure in settings that your bhp is what you think it should be, i made mistake because i did medium NA engine first, wasn't any good, then i did full turbo, and was still ****, then had a look at settings and turbo wasn't on! you have to turn off NA and select turbo, still took abit of effort, but now got the 205T16rally which is the lick, and cheap mod gives it 500bhp fully sorted!!

it seems the other 206's are so fast because they know the prize is so  good, basically sorts out rally :) , i agree that 5sec thing is a pain..

I broke off testing the Ferrari F2005 at Fiorano to try the 206 race with a 206 RC. I fully modded it with weight reduction and engine mods to put out 360HP. I ran the second race and averaged about 1'02" per lap and won by 9secs. I also ran with hard race tires. The most important way to beat them is in the corners, so it's brake late and hard and make sure you tune your suspension. Go to the Tuning and Settings forum to see it you can seek help there. If all else fails, practice!!!!! 👍 By the way, don't be nice with your passes. You aren't out there to make friends!!!! :)

For the first 2 races, i used a 206 S16 '99, @ 300 hp, with wing, nitro @ 25, soft tires. @ Opera Paris(@126 points), it was like driving on ice, compared to them being on rails :grumpy: but, with some persistance, i managed to beat the 🤬 even though, the standard transmission tops out. I then installed the racing transmission/3pple clutch/r flywheel/f c differential/r suspension, for Tsukuba(@101 points) and i went-------bye bye, Nitro 👍 rocks!
Nitrous helps, if you want to maximize your points and i noticed that, if i install Nitrous, the points don't decrease. Go figure :boggled:
I haven't done the other 3 races, since there's only so much of BS races i can handle in one------month? As for the Speedster's races, what a **** BS. I won the first, but the second is just too much ******So, i wish you good luck!
If you have a hard time with it, go do the Citroen 2CV races a few times, that will help you relax a little. Don't forget to use Nitrous and watch that baby do almost 100--- downhill

I just did the other 3 races @ Peugeot 206, using the same car as above.
@ Driving Park(@98 points), i lost it on the first trial, using hard tires, so i then used medium front/soft rear. Barely made it, since the front right tire was glowing red on the last lap and i lost my 4 seconds lead i had and at the last corner, the only thing that saved me, was NITROUS:tup: (set @ 25). Suzuka, was the easyest of them all (@94 points). I got the lead at the first corner and never looked back. I had to change the trans settings 1 level lower, since it topped out. Cote D'azur(@98points), has some heavy grease @ the chicane, after the tunnel, but also some crazy glue, cause the brakes practically stopped my car on a dime, but then, overpassing the chicane, it was---greasy:tdown: same thing @ the last corner, prior to the pit entrance.
This are my settings: Used Peugeot 206 S16 @ 304 hp.;; Oil Change;; Rear Wing(last on list);; Exhaust:Racing;; Racing chip:Sports;; Tires:Racing R3f/R4r;; Nitrous:Equip/set 25;; Turbo:Stage 3;; Brakes:Racing/Controller set 6f/6r;; Suspension:Racing/spring rate 11.6f/9.8r;; Height:115/115;; Shock Bound:3/3;; Rebound:7/7;; Camber:5.2f/3.2r;; Toe:1f/0r;; Stabilizers:7f/6r;; Transmission:Full,Auto 5;; ASMO:2;; ASMU:2;; TCS:4(and tires still spin);; Downforce:30f/22r;; Full Limited Slip:init.8/accel.32/decel.18;;
What worked for me, may not necessarily work for you. We all have our own driving style. There's plenty of room for improvement, but for now, it will do for me. I hope this helps. Good luck!👍

Guys,
Please don't scare the hell out of me. I just purchased a 206 to enter the French Cup ( a or b license , I don't remember exactly wich one because I'm at work and my boss doesn,t want me to bring my PS2 in my office ) and didn't tried it yet.
Obviously, it won't be just a walk in the park to win that serie.
But hey, no pain , no gain.

This is a quality race, Not simple in other words, I used the 206 16V and Lost twice, Took some aid off, Added some harder tires and stiffin up the front and I smoked them by almost a minute!

Read on the forum to put a wing on the Opel. Won every race between 6 and 10 seconds after that.

206 cup was cake with a fully tuned RC, but just be aware, with the DS2, these FF cars won't accelerate out of turns if you are going full throttle. You really have to keep your speed thru the turns and straighten it out gradually. Throttle control it.

Opel race was a pain. My hint to give: Opel Turbo will get you burned everytime, you will have 50 more hp than the regular, but it weighs ~100kg more. I could only win 3/5 with my turbo, and noticed the regular cars winning, so I opted to try it out. Go for the regular Speedster, turbo it, etc. to about 310 hp, and with your weight being lower, you will have a much better time running faster laps. You should have no problem doing that. Still 197-200 A-spec point races though.

The RC is a burner, and it looks like a charm. I pretty much bought everything for it, it has 285 hp. I recommend you to get this one instead of the slower and heavier S16. The races were somewhere between 130 and 140 A-spec points with my RC, but I easily won all of them. Just remember to put on hard tyres at the front, cause this thing is a tyre shredder!

Cheers,
the Interceptor

i stomped this cup in me rally 206, even me bspec driver won some of the races. imo its easier than say, the clio races now thats a pig especially when yu enter in the road car and the others have the race clio
