Ok, I have changed how the race is going to be be. For instance, I have divided the already 24 existing members who signed-up into two groups of 12 each one. One group is going to race the Power vs Weight competition, while the other one is going to do a standard "best lap" competition.

Power Vs. Weight Race

-Boombexus
-chris100575
-Jpec
-danoff
-Neonduke
-GTJugend
-dub_c
-zert0th
-Barbol

For the Power Vs. Weight race:
-The Track = Trial Mountain
-The Cars
1-Lotus Motor Sport Elise
2-Mercedez Benz CL600

Each member is going to have to race the same track twice (once with the Elise, then with CL600). For this race, I am trying to prove that a relatively "underpowered" car such as the Elise can do better than the CL600 on that specified track.

You know the rules. No shortcuts, grass driving or wall bumping. I want a clean race. You can drive from the inside on the first tunnel on Trial Mountain. At least you dont fail if you touch that area on the License test, so I will apply it too.

As you know both cars, you have to purchase them from the Dealer section of the Simulation mode. I want the cars stock. With ASM and TCS turned off. No oil changes either. I want everybody to be on the same both.

Preference: I want the car new. This means, that it must not have any miles.

You will submit your best lap for each car.

For this race:

-The Car = Chevrolet Corvette Z06
-The Track = Tokyo R246

This is the standard best lap time competition. Rules, are no wall-bumbing, or shortcuts, in other words a clean race. Submit the time of your best lap. I picked a car from Arcade so everybody can have no problems in finding it. I believe everybody has the track too. If you dont, just complete the first row of Arcade so you can get it.

The Tire-Lap Race

Participants: Everybody. Half & Half . Read further to find out.

Car: Your preference (but has to be stock). Simulation or Arcade.

-For the first half of participants (the ones on the Power vs Weight), I want you to pick a heavy-powered car. A car with heavy HP (300 hp+).

-For the other half (the ones in the standard race), I want you to pick a medium (120-300 hp) powered car.

I want you to race the track (Grand Valley Speedway) with T5's (Medium sets of tires). You dont have to post the time. I just want you to tell, how many laps did you last until your tires turn completely red, thus turning the car completely undriveable (sp?)

I am just trying to establish the relation between tire wear and HP.

You will send the times by pm or email. Whatever fits you the best.

email= m_roadkill@hotmail.com

Please put under what category are you sending your best time, and your username (if you send it by email).

That its!
Thanks for your cooperation.

i will get right on this once football is done

oh and is this with or without ASM and TCS

Sounds ok with me.

I will have a single session with the arcade vette at some point tonight. Im giving you my single session best lap and thats it. This is for helping your data out, not my reputation.

The tire wear thing... you might have a hard time with this in one way- unaccountable variables.

Driver:D Makes all the difference on tire wear and anyone who's done one of the many multi lap races that have been around for the last couple of weeks. In case anyone doesn't know... throttle control, steering input and braking control all play a role in tire wear.

So good luck with that. Then again, you might be able to establish a simple trend of high hp .vs. low hp, so it could work.

I will have your time either tonight or tomorrow in the am. till then...

Okay. So we do only one legit lap with each car?

if thats the case i have to start over... its all good tho, i was in the middle of a championship series race in pro, so i didnt save after i bought the cars, so its no big deal, i just wrote down the times... but i did like 10-15 laps to get my best time, not the first lap...

Ok, literally just did 2 laps with the vette.

I know it can come way down and if you dont collect this data from everyone else, I might take a shot at this.

For now though I am happy with that. It was a 2nd lap on the first session and only because the 1st lap wasn't clean.

I hope its not too bad, but like I said before... "blah blah data not reputation blbhalladlh" blah.

Plus I have a 539hp diablo calling me on the same track.:trouble:

so for the standard lap w/ the Z06 we use the arcade version car? and when do you need these times?

It is ok, dont rush it. Take your time. You have until Friday of next week. Work hard. And yes, ASM and TCS off. You use the arcade version of the Corvette.

You dont only have to race one lap and that one counts. You can try countless times. It is your best lap, the one that counts.

that's codered_59! not 159! lol

so by what time on friday do you need the data to be submitted?

Possibly before midnight, so I can begin to work it on Saturday. I hope everybody gets to read this though.

Sorry about your name.

Ok, first impressions after 10 laps in the CL. (and 3 laps in the elise) Man! This must be 2 of the most difficult cars to drive in the game! CL untuned well duh! MS elise untuned well duh! Supertanker vs speedboat. I get schizophrenic when I shift between them;). I guess (at least for me) the time difference will be something like 4-5 seconds (or 4-5%) between the two cars which is quite interesting since the CL has a P/W ratio of 5.5 and the elise only 3.5...

Oh and the hp starts rising after only 30 kms so I quit and load the game again when the tach reaches 30.. Is that correct tercel?

Yep. :)
As I said, I would want everybody to have the same settings, to be equal. Also, you made some good points. Keep, them coming. I will add all the comments that every racer has made to my project.

EDIT: I just realized, while sending the PM's, that I had missed two members. I dont know how I missed them, but anyways, there are 24 members now in total.

Sorry about that, both to Barbol and Bbandit.

This may be just stupid, but would you like the XPort replay files?

the vette has a real problem makeing power in the low rpm range, and the tranny is never ending :banghead: :banghead:

for the tire-wear race, do u want us to stop after the tires have turned completely red? or when it becomes ridiculously undriveable?

I think it might be more appropriate for us to stop the race the instant the tires become full red

One thing you may want to consider is the weight in the Tire Wear race. I believe a Tuscan Speed Six or Twelve (could be more, these are what came to mind) could create some sort of STATISCIAL ANNOMLY *strokes white beard and hrmmms*.

Sorry, I really don't know what I'm talking about. But it could lead to some weird sort of data.

Mercedes:
1'39.328

Lotus:
1'36.513

Corvette Z06:
Front-Left Tire: Lap 5
Front-Right Tire: Lap 6
Rear-left Tire: Lap 9
Rear-Right Tire: Lap 10

Motor Sport Elise (20 laps)
1'34.530
CL600 (couldn't stand 20 laps)
1'39.226

Viper GTS
FL Tire Red at Lap 5
FR Tire Red at Lap 6
RL Tire Red at Lap 8
RR Tire Red at Lap 9

I believe the car gets practically undriveable when tires get red. Or is anything further than red? Also, I want the time of all your tires, getting read, not each one. You can post your times here, but pm'ing me would be better so as not to let people just copy and paste your times and taking as theirs.

I watched each tire out of interest more than for the statistics data. Besides... giving you one single digit number after 12 laps of racing just didn't seem like enough.

XJ 220 Road Car: All tires red at lap 10

CL600: 1.38.934

MSElise: 1.35.119

I ran about 15 full laps in each car.

Motor Sport Elise:
1'39.239

CL600
1'43.338

I ran about 12 laps in each.

Hi,
All info sent to you @ the posted email address.I hope it helps.
Later,
cinjun8

Ok, thanks.

Has everybody given the info? I think, there are some members left.

I have some info to give.
For the first trial, I ran both cars 5 laps around the track with T8s, no TCS or ASM or oil change. Here's what I got:
Exige: 1'32.238
CL600: 1'36.842
(I had a rather nasty spinout at the end of the lap in the CL600, completely ruined a good run).
The other part will probably come tomorrow evening.

Edit: Crap! I just realized that tires were supposed to be normal. I'll add 4 seconds to try and level it out (as 4 seconds looks to be about right in my usual placings).
Exige: 1'36.238
CL600: 1'40.842

Car for the tire-test: F094/S
FL: 4.75
FR: 5.5
BL: 6.25
BR: 6.25

I am posting to announce that there are still members that need to post their times. I have received the info from only 54% of the total members, so please send your times.

=================

That is from the very begining of this thread.

So take the time and good luck.

Just do me a favor and recognize when this message was originally posted... at the very begining of the thread. (hell, you gave me a pm about getting my time after I had already posted it.)

So good luck with the rest of these people, but me... Im done, this racing was to help you with your project, not work on my skills or have some fun competition. :D Sorry to be a jerk, my bad.

sorry, i was out of town for the weekend, but i did the first part, ill try to do the tire test one tonight real quick.

ill PM my times for the power vs weight now...
