Hello GTPlanet members,

My name is Adam and I am a 15 year old. I have always been an avid fan of Motorsport, the four-wheeled side of things in particular. I've always wanted a career in Motorsport somehow and journalism appears to be the route for me, after it became blatant I was going to be to tall for driving in the higher tier's as I am 6'2 and also have a very light wallet! I also realised I probably get crossed up when speaking far to often to attempt commentary.

So from here on out every piece of work I do, I will post here. The amounts I write depend on interest from websites and the ties of school, sporting and social life but I will try and keep a regular stream of race reports going, along with the occasional article.

Don't be afraid to make your opinions known. I will accept any amount of structured criticism and advice from the community. I will start the ball rolling with my report from a two hour endurance race from Brands Hatch in September known as the 'Baby 360'. The four GT Academy finalists were involved in the event. I must say looking back I could have done far better, as I feel I'm improving all the time, but see what you think anyway!

Hope you all enjoy!

The link is sending me to a "Page not found". Might just be me though.

Also, I am in the same boat as you (sort of). I am also 6'2 and light in the wallet (I am 16 years old, however).

Good luck with your journalism career. I'll be checking back for future articles.

I am getting that too. Unfortunatley I have no idea how to fix that. If you are interested in reading it search '360MRC' into Google and you will find the club's website. I am just a short scroll down the home page! ;)

EDIT: Link now working!

Everybody,
I now have a Facebook page for my journalism, and I'd appreciate it if you guys could like it to boost my numbers. Here is the first ever instalment of my Daily Round-Up feature!

"For many UK citizens today has been completely white, but this didn't stop those more familiar with the 'black stuff' creating some news for people like me to report on!

In Formula One, Williams announced it's 2013 car, the FW35, will not appear at the first test of the season at the Spanish Jerez circuit. Instead, a 2012 FW34 bearing the 2013 livery will test, with some parts being tested for this year's car.

Force India were featured in a couple of stories today; The team denied their future was in Jeopardy, and also stated they would not confirm the identity of their second driver before or during the launch of their 2013 machine. They also said that they will 'probably' reveal who will partner Paul Di Resta before testing begins. Ferrari-backed driver Jules Bianchi and former Force India driver Adrian Sutil look to be the two most likely candidates.

Now to rallying, and Sebastian Loeb has dominated the WRC-opening Monte Carlo Rally thus far. His chances of winning were aided today as his former Citroen protégé Sebastian Ogier took a careful approach to the icy roads. The VW driver is not overly concerned about Loeb getting away though, since the Nine-Time Champion is not going for a 10th title and is only competing on a part-time schedule. Evgeny Novikov is the current holder of third place, after Dani Sordo lost time with a spin during the day; The gap between them is 1.7 seconds.

Jari-Matti Latvala is currently fifth position, having taken the place from former teammate Mikko Hirvonen.

Touring Cars; Turkington's back! The 2009 BTCC Champion Colin Turkington has returned to West Surrey Racing for a campaign in the new NGTC BMW 125i. His WSR teammate Rob Collard describes his return as a lift for the squad, and it will certainly lift the excitement to a new level for the new season. Over to the Aussie side of the tin-top spectrum, and the V8 Supercars. It's been announced that they have lost their slot on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix support bill this season. This could be considered a blow to the series, but it has been said that the FOM informed them of this in December, which means they have had enough time to plan the schedule knowing of this news.

Meanwhile in the WTCC, the weights of all 2013 cars has been levelled. All cars will run at a weight of 1150kg, including the driver.

Now to a somewhat quiet day in GT's. Today's stand out news was the addition of Rhino's Leipert Motorsport on a full season entry in British GT. The team competed in some races last season with their Beautiful Lamborghini Gallardo LP600, and this year they are planning a two car entry.

Have I missed something? Do let me know! (I will update on any Dakar news later on)"

Let me know what you think and please like my page! http://www.facebook.com/AdamTheMotorsportJourno?fref=ts

Hey Adam, I read your Britcar report on Dailysportscar a few days back. Keep it up, shoot me a PM is you're at any Britcar or British GT events, I'll be photographing them all year.

Okay I will. I should be at both series Brands Hatch rounds, as well as the Britcar 1000km. I may manage more, and I will let you know if so.

EDIT; If anyone from foreign countries has news on their national and regional series, please contact me either through GTP or Facebook, as it will probably not have received any coverage here in the UK!

Here is the 19th of January edition of my Daily Motorsport Round-Up!

"I do believe it's time for the Daily Round-Up! Today, to my knowledge at least, there has been no news stories emitting from the world of Formula One. This means that I can focus on the rest of the Motorsport world.

First to the WRC, and Sebastien Loeb has clinched his seventh Monte Carlo Rally victory, slightly earlier than he expected. The final two stages of the day were cancelled following heavy rain in a previously very snowy and icy area. Due to the weather, the majority of the fans decided to leave, causing massive congestion on the local roads. It was felt that this would be a hindrance to the action plan the event organisers had in place if an incident occurred, therefore the last two stages were cancelled.

This meant Loeb won the rally by one minute 39 seconds, with Sebastien Ogier second. Dani Sordo came third while Mikko Hirvonen was fourth, meaning three quarters of the top four were Citroen factory drivers. Though this was aided by the various calamities on stage fourteen; The fearsome Col de Turini.

Qatar M-Sport drivers Evgeny Novikov and Juho Hanninen were both casualties, as was VW driver Jari-Matti Latvala. 2011 Monte Carlo winner Bryan Bouffier was victorious on the challenging stage, which the drivers ran through twice.

So Loeb has added another jewel to his crown as the best rally driver of the modern era, and possibly even as the greatest of all-time.

In NASCAR, Aric Almirola was the pacesetter at the final Sprint Cup pre-season group test in Charlotte. The Ford driver lapped the oval in 27.832 seconds, faster than last year's pole time. Ford head to Daytona with some great momentum, as Carl Edwards, Casey Mears and former V8 Supercar racer Marcos Ambrose rounded out an all-Ford top four. Jimmie Johnson was fifth in his Chevrolet, with Mark Martin being sixth place and the fastest of the Toyotas.

2012 Nationwide Champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr was tenth in his Ford, while former Formula One drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Scott Speed ended the session 11th and 33rd respectively. The test left NASCAR officials certain that the new for 2013 cars were going to provide better racing this season.

In the world of GT's, Risi Ferrari have announced their return to the American Le Mans Series for this season, and have also committed to competing in next year's merged ALMS/Grand-Am series. This is a boost to the already strong GT class, which looks set to be as hard fought as ever in 2013.

Stephane Peterhansel has secured his eleventh Dakar victory after carefully competing the final stage of the rally. The victor finished the event 42 minutes clear of second place finisher Giniel de Villiers' Toyota. The X-raid team filled four of the five top positions, which is a fabulous result.

Now to Touring Cars, and the Superstars series. Chevrolet team Solaris have announced that they will run a Chevrolet Camaro in the primarily Italian-based championship, alongside the Lumina they raced last season. The team are hoping to have a good season with the new car, and persuade Chevrolet into launching a works Superstars programme.

Lastly, some news from the Two-wheeled side of Motorsport. Moto GP boss Carmelo Ezpeleta believes that the CRT bikes would be much closer to the front of the field if top riders were to try them out. The CRT's were clearly slower during 2012, with Michele Pirro claiming the highest finish; A fifth place at the rain struck season finale in Valencia, Spain. He conceded that it was highly unlikely to ever happen, but he did say that if a leading rider took to the saddle of a CRT, there would be some difference.

Have I missed something, or would you like some of your Motorsport related news featured in a future Round-Up? Do message me and let me know!

Ciao!"

Hey man very impressive stuff I see here, it's really good. I'm a 16-year-old car journo myself and if you want to check out my blog it should be in my signature.

After what I read here though, I am certainly looking forward to reading your race report of the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours race (that is if you write a report, of course). Cheers.

Hey there Bradster, I never saw your post here. Thanks for the positive comments!

Also, I have realised I have rather too much time on my hands. I was expecting to join a Basketball team but there aren't many locally so starting from tonight the Daily Motorsport News Round-Up will be returning to your monitors on the Facebook page linked in the OP. I now write about motoring in general rather than just motor racing.

Last month I was at Donington Park for the annual 360 Six Hour endurance race, and a report relating to that can be found here.

Updates!

Currently, school has forced me to put the Facebook page to one side, but I am by no means giving up on it. I will take advantage of the Christmas break to write a lot more for posting there. Also, I am now in charge of press, interviewing and reporting for the GT6 Nürburgring 24 Hour event held by @memto89 and @jonnyb1990 from CORE.

I often interview competitors, and said interviews can be found at the links below. Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, we'd appreciate the support! :)

Thanks Tom, I'm looking forward to seeing the Solberg interview!

Hi everyone,

Here are a pair of interviews I recorded at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Kevin Riley: https://soundcloud.com/adam-weller-motorsports/brands-hatch-gt-cup-kevin-riley-interview *One use of bad language from Kevin*.

Roman Rusinov: https://soundcloud.com/adam-weller-motorsports/blancpain-brands-roman-rusinov

Roman was very busy at the time, therefore I had to shorten my interview slightly, but he still delivered a good, fast interview with interesting answers. I had been in contact before hand to book the interview, so I was very pleased he followed up on our agreement. I asked Kevin if he had time earlier in the day, and he had agreed. His interview is longer at around 15 minutes, and features some rather interesting tales from his time in the racing world.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy the interviews.
