The AI can be funny...

Ever see the AI do something totally quirky? I was racing Tahiti Maze reverse...

(Map shows forward)

When the AI was following me through the first sharp left of the last set of switchbacks before the finish line (near the top of the picture). Anyway, I finish the turns and notice the AI's dot on the map not moving, it's still stuck on that turn.

Not one to take chances, I decide to take a peek next time around. I expect to find the car protruding from the wall, stuck in geometry or something. Nope. It was just sitting there with it's nose against the inside of the turn, spinning it's tires.

Being the kind Samaritan (up one lap at this point, I must add) that I am I gave him a tiny nudge and he went merrily on his way. I still beat him by a lap though.

Ever have something like this happen? I've seen AI cars that are on my bumper 99% of the time in rally races spin out for no reason on some easy corner and then spend 20 seconds trying to get going again. Odd, but strangely satisfactory...

I had it happened before, a few times. I think it happened on that course more than once. The first time I came to stop and watched him for a few minutes, laughed, and moved around him. Then the second time I slammed into him as hard as possible. :D

Yeah, actually that will pretty much happen anywhere you can get the ai to run head on into a sharp turn.

For example, seattle reverse, push one of the ai into the wall on the first turn and he will just sit there for the rest of the race...

Thing is, I dont think AI will use reverse.

And they thought we had egos about our driving!

I've been in an enduro race at Rome and went to go into the pitlane and accidently hit the R390 I was racing into the wall at the beggining of the pit. Well th ewall being flat he just kept it in a striahgt line and was flat out on the throttle. Made me laugh. I wasin a really crap car though (forgot what) and was racing a TS020 and it was a tight race, and I was half way through so I couldn't stop to help.

I was racing rome in some series today, and the AI comes around that corner after the back straight and brakes too early. Spins the car and he hits the rest of the pack... easy win for me

yeah i saw the gt1 and gt40 race cars stuck at the entrance of the pits at cote for 3-4 laps once....
poor buggers

I had the same thing happen, it was on the Seattle Reverse and a Corvette was facing the wall on the wierd little corner at the start. It was just sitting spinning its tyres against the wall, and not knowing it was there I slamed right into him sending him sideways.

I had the same thing happen to me just about five days ago. He stayed there for about two and a half laps. It happend in Arcade Mode, on the hard setting.

I had something similar happen only it was to ME. I was doing the cote de azure enduro and I was going into the pits and got distracted somehow and ended up hitting a wall and spinning into the pits. Then the auto drive took over and ran me right into the wall then attempted to get me out by gunning it and turning only this would eventually spin me back to right where I started so I sat like that for about 5 minutes until one of the AI pitted and rammed me off the wall. That pissed me off so bad.
