This just in. The race in October at Laguna Seca will be a night race!! It will start at 4:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. This will be the first night race at Laguna in its history.
On other news:
Rumor has it that team Oreca is looking into running one of the 550's at Leman this year.This has yet to be confermed by Oreca at this time.

Chrysler is looking into developing the new Viper for ALMS competition.Again team Oreca has been mentioned as the developing team for this program.
As I said, these are just rumors at this time, but the 550 and Oreca one seems to be close to being verified. Keep a eye on the Lemans entery list to see if it happens.
 
It wont be that dark at 8:00PM, so I don't think it will be a night race for very long. The sun will set around 7:00PM, maybe causing for a nice sunset, but not a long night race.

I've never been to a night race at Laguna Seca. I think I'll get tickets for this one.
 
Seeing as how the entry list for LeMans has already been out for a while now, you can quickly forget your Oreca Ferrari 550 rumor, since they're not on the list.
 
From what I read on the ALMS site, they are thinking of taking over one of the 5 that have already been entered. Sort of a sub let thing.
 
There is no news like that on the ALMS website. LeMans is invitation only, and the invitations have already been sent out. No one else will be added.
 
I just went over to the ALMS site and in the GTS class threads it said" Autosport UK magazine has reported that Oreca has applied for a LM entery driving a Prodrive 550." Now I'm not saying that this will happen,I just found it interesting and thought every one eles would like to know.Maybe some one in the UK that gets that magazine can shed some light on this.
 
Are you getting this from a message board? Because, that's not real credible news...

Not only that, but no one can apply anymore. The applications were due way back in February. At most, you're confusing LeMans with LMES, which Oreca could certainly enter.
 
That could be it. Like I said before, this is a rumor.I would like to see Oreca run the 550 for the season.:cheers:
