I'm sorry, I do not wish to be offensive or start an arguement but I think it's actually the opposite.

I am mentally handicapped, and I also have some very limited knowledge of symptons and problems associated with being mentally handicapped, for which there are many, what and how something affects someone can also differ greatly.

One of the symptons of being mentally handicpped is a lack of control, this can be both physical and psychological, but this happens 'naturally'.

My point is this, the actions of these so called ''trolls'' are a deliberate action, there is intent behind these actions, they know what they are doing and they do it on purpose.

People who are mentally handicapped usually do not realize they are offending someone.

For instance, if someone asks me if I like their new car, hair, I phone or whatever, I will answer them honestly. Sometimes when I say I don't like it people get offended, I do not mean to deliberately offend them I am just giving an honest answer to an honest question.

These ''trolls'' are deliberately and actively doing whatever they can to inflict as much offense as possible, that's a big difference.

He meant that young earth creationists are mentally handicapped, not trolls, but he's wrong there too, stupidity and ignorance flourish quite well without any mental handicaps becoming involved.

As to the topic at hand, this kind of psychology is very interesting to me. The whole 'brand loyalty' thing is an amazing phenomenon if you really think about it. It's like people are programmed to defend their choices once they make them. Like because they chose a certain thing, everyone else must choose it also or they are crazy/stupid etc. It's really quite funny if you think about it.
