Whenever I'm reading a thread and I click the back button on my toolbar, all that happens is the ads start reloading so I have to click back twice to actually go back. Does anybody know why this is happening?

edit: and the ads dont actually load. all it says is the page cannot be displayed where the ad should be.

I use IE and don't see any ads, just a white space where one should be. When I hit the back button it goes to the previous page. Careful, others will probably start to pick on you because you are using IE and they think that IE is inferior to all the other browsers.

What in the world is with all the completely bizarre problems recently????!!!!! Blue_sharky, try clicking on any blank area of the web page (like somewhere in the blue header, for example), and then clicking your back button. Other than that, I really don't know what else to tell you.

Hehe.. if you say so. :)

Firefox + Firewall = No ads. Anywhere. Ever.

:D
I'm biased, but don't you think blocking ads is a little bit unfair?

Not really. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the ads only "count" if people click on them? I never click on ads, so it shouldn't make any difference. And you still get the counter hit, because the page will still attempt to load it, it just won't finish. So there's zero impact on the revenue, either way.

It depends on what type of campaign a website is running. I run CPM ads here, which earn money based upon the number of impressions they receive. Also, ad blocker blocks traffic from most ad servers -- it will not count as a viewed ad. Advertising companies are not stupid, most ad views don't even count unless they are displayed on the page for at least a few seconds. Intrusive ads are a different story, but I feel that a small graphic on a web page is a small price to pay to the websites which provide you so much free content.

Speaking of ads – On the Insider site, whenever you click on any link (even the "Search" box, which isn't a true link), a pop-up comes up. Is that supposed to happen?

That's what I've been wondering. They all seem to be popping up around now. My post problem, Blake's Premium Ads problem, these redirect-advertisement things. It's very odd.

Also, on the advertisements, is there a way that you could allow ads from a particular site? You can do that with Pop-Ups. I wouldn't know for the Ads though, as I never blocked them. By the time I found out you could, Jordan removed them for us Mods. :D

I've just noticed that all of the ads displayed to me have changed to UK companies or UK products, with £ and p. It's all terribly clever.

Are you supposed to? Because this could be another problem on it's own. Have you ever seen ads? Or have you just blocked them with Firefox?

Also, GTPremium has other features apart from blocking ads, you know...

Jordan: your fantastic website has officially become posessed. I recommend you find a preist NOW to flush out whatever demon has chosen this innocent website. THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!
