That's where coming summer athletes will float around trying to get that precious medal.

However, and this was known before Brazil won the bid, the bay is, according to many sources, an open sewer, full with disgusting stuff, and loads of plastic.

The government promised to have the bay clean before the Olympics but according to Dutch windsurfer Dorian van Rijsselberghe the bay is still as filthy as it has been for quite some time. He complained that the bags just stick on his board, forcing him to get back to shore to have the plastic removed.

I think that the Brazilian government might just have met their match, and it's called pollution.
