Lesson Number 2-
Most French cars are known for shocking reliability, but the engines are fine (so I hear). Just don't mention electricals to a french car owner.
Aaaaaarrgh! Shh!

How do you think I feel? I've got a French car that's built in Italy! :scared:

Hehehe!

How have you found the reliability? Is there truth behind the myth?
How's the cigarette lighter?

I'm saying nothing for fear of jinxing it. It's needed a new radiator and a power steering hose since I got it 3 years ago.

Its currently powering my tomtom very nicely thanks. The electrically retracting exterior mirrors don't retract, but the mirror surface itself still moves, and they're still heated. (The passenger mirror actually retracted once when I tried, and came back out, but it's never done it since). My CD autochanger ate 6 CDs, but that's the fault of Philips, not Peugeot.

Apparently this is something of a novelty. 206CC & 307CC are apparently very good at retracting their roofs. Shame they're not so good at putting them back again.

I think this. I know it all might be to do with how sound proofed the car it's in is and all, but this engine is great, best and quietest diesel I've ever been in (trust me, I've been in quite a few). Diesel is the future, and knowing all of the awards it's gotten too because of its refinement and technology, it should at least get a mention in here. I think this is the start to PROPERLY good diesel engines coming from this group.

I see that there is a possibility that it will become an optional engine in the US, and that certainly is exciting news. However, they would presumably have to clean the engine up extensively in order for it to pass our extremely stupid diesel emissions tests for 2007.

But, GM has said they have three diesel engines on the way, and DCX is preparing an all-out attack with the BluTec not only in their Mercedes line, but in their Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models.

Diesel power is indeed the future, but unfortunately here in the US, the majority of the public still needs to be convinced that diesel power is not only more efficent than hybrid power, but is also cheaper as well.

...Maybe we should force everyone to watch the Top Gear test of the VW Polo or Fox to see how great the fuel economy can be, and maybe we could forget about those silly Prius models.

I hope we get more diesels.. Then we can run them off WVO and not have to worry about middle eastern oil.
