I would suggest this to anyone... Even if you don't like ovals.
So first thing's first - Go to the arcade mode, choose the highest level AI difficulty (Can't remember the name of it now).
Track: Daytona Oval
Car: Arcade NASCAR (So you can have all NASCAR race)
Laps: Up to you, but I would suggest 50+ so you have to pit at least once.
Settings: Everything off (including ABS). Turn the grip reduction to real and mechanical damage to heavy (The AI get damaged too, actually
)
Tyres: Sports hard or lower.
Turn the HUD off when in-race as well.
So this is how my race went (and I'm definately doing it again).
Lap 1. Everyone's racing very close, so there's a few bumps and 3 AI cars pit. I'm not damaged... yet.
Lap 2. A few more AI cars pit.
Lap 10. I hit another guy pretty badly, spun out and my steering was 🤬 so I pit. After I'm out of the pits, I'm 15th, 2 laps down.
Lap 23. I got pit-maneuvered and hit a wall. I knew that I'm going to pit pretty soon, so I didn't pit then.
Lap 30. I pit in @13th, didn't change any settings as this was my final pit (fuel is set automatically until the end of the race). I come out of the pits 16th.
Laps 39-45. AI cars start pitting for fuel and tyres, so I move up to 4th.
So finally, the guy in first place pits at lap 47. I caught him up on the final lap on the back straight. Over took him. Final corner, my car started slowing down... Thought my pedals disconnected or something... Turned on the HUD just to see I'm out of fuel!
So I crossed the line in second place, 7 seconds behind the leader!
I think this is one of the few races where I had fun in GT5. Arcade mode is much better than A-Spec or B-Spec. Try it
!
