this info was garthered at http://www.streetracing.org/japan/drift/drift2.htm
What cars do they use.
There are several cars most commonly used for drifting. The first is the AE86 Levin/Trueno (referred to as a Hachi-Roku), because of it's rear wheel drive lay-out and the fact that it's relatively inexpensive it is probably the most common drifting car. The second and third are the Silvia S13 and S14, which come in two different models: the turbocharged K's and the non-turbo Q's. Because of their high horse power and free-revving enginges they are excellent drifting cars. The third is the 180SX, related mechanically to the Silvia, the only difference is in the body style and the fact that is lighter and has a better front/rear balance ratio. The fifth is the FC3S RX-7. I believe that this would be a more popular pick among drifters if it was not as problematic as it is.

The GTS-T which you don't see very often. It has a rear wheel drive layout and boasts a 260hp engine. A car you also don't see very often, but is the epitome of a drifting car, is the Sil-Eighty. It is a hybrid of a Silvia and a 180SX, either with a Silvia S13 front end and a 180SX back or the opposite.

That's just depending on your region. Around Australia, Sprinters are hard to come by, and if they are ever found, they are expensive for their make. The most common car found here used by drifters are the S13/14/15 cars. But the rest are varied greatly. You'll see old Holdens mixing it up with M3's on a daily basis.

They also use Nissan Cefiros quite popular for touge battles, Nissan Laurels. Both of these cars are 4 door sedans that have a perfectly balanced chasis for drift. Commonly found in cefiros are the rb engines that are found in r32s. Not sure about the Laurel but nontheless they are both popular cars. (Pitty these 2 aren't in the game.

Also earning a name for itself is the FD RX-7 these are growing popualr in the drift scene. A rare toyota soarer (Lexus SC400) also has the potential for a drift car sporting a 2JZ-GTE, but not many are seen drifting. There is one in D1 however.

Actually the opposite of a sil-eighty is more formally known as a onevia that is a 180sx front end on a silvia S13. and for the record an s14.5 is an s14 with the front of an s15.

very true i was going to make a video of all the most commonly used drift cars in real life. ill shall make sure i ad those to my list.

The reason for not adding those cars was that i dont think they apear in the game i am aware that The Cefiro is another excellent drifting car. It has a powerful RB20DET engine and good handling characteristics. The last is the Laurel which is also powered by the RB20DET. .

Honda Civics over here on the West side of USA, but its mostly the 180sx (RPS13) over here that is mostly used

Boogieman
has this anything to do with GT4 ????

and please no more fighting about FF drift . . . .
Yes because all the cars listed are available in the game so u can try out the cars and see what u think compared to orther machines

You got that from this website:

You really should give them credit for it.

and the non-US members here may or may not know that this "onevia" was sold in the US as a 240sx

wont the soarer be a sc300? sc400 is a v8 engine, while the sc300 is the 2jz-ge, same as the 2jz-gte but jus not turbo. the soarer in d1gp is owned by ueno and he is my idol.

Oh whoops yes you got me sorry bout that. Yeh the SC300 is the 6 cyl version and the SC400 is the V8.

Most guys who drift already know all this and it varies by region btw. But anyway what is the point of this thread i don't get it, you just copy pasted some stuff about drifting. thats like me going into the the main GT4 forum and posting a new thread saying "GT4 has over 700 cars"
