The aim of this is simple to determine in career mode how many different tracks are actually usable by a car & give a close finish at the end.

I expect this will vary slightly depending on skill level & ignore the deficiencies of the AI this is just to determine the number of usable tracks by a car that give something resembling a race.

Ignoring Dirt, Snow, Kart, Oval & duplicates there are 61 available tracks, 77 including reverse direction.

The Test
Use career mode with whatever driving aids you prefer for the following prize cars.

Mario Andretti's Hudson '48
Lotus Elise Race Car '96
McLaren F1 '94

All handle well enough so use them as originally supplied, no tuning & default tyres to keep it simple.
If you like suppose could tune LSD just don't do anything else.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can report with tyre class up or down 1 level & PP adjusted by +- 15% if your so inclined.
Put the results in brackets (--)

Also if you want to give arcade single player a go can you produce races on more tracks with a close finish fairly easily?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes road cars in the 450-550 range can probably enter more events chuck road tyres on the Lotus to find out if you want. However these are prize cars so you should be able to use them in a good chunk of the game as they thought we would like them.

This will give a idea of the variety of ways it is possible to earn money with a given car rather than just using the same tracks over & over.
If you can use a car on 8 tracks you have access to 10% of the tracks in game with which to earn prize money, we wont take the prize value into account.

And VBR has been listing and soliciting options for months HERE: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-options-please-op-updated-26th-april.304971/

Exactly & I think he is right but lets prove the point beyond any shadow of doubt.

The aim is to find out if you want to drive a specific car how many tracks can you use it on competitively, not even going to cover how easy it is to find those races.

If you wanted to get anal you could also list how many races were against cars that were similar so its more immersive though that's probably an issue with the Hudson.

It may well show that people with different skill levels have to use them in different races to the ones they would be likely to participate in meaning this whole vision thing is hog wash.

I am away from my Playstation this week but if people post will put my figures up. That's unusual but quite often I don't have time for online & GT SHOULD be my go to game if I have an hour or so to kill. Just have a few races vs the AI but instead of enjoying it more often than not I get frustrated at the fact their is no real content to the game.

I can't figure out the point you're trying to prove.

Content & accessibility
There are 81 road tracks 84 if you include the Kart ones.
How many of them can you actually race a given car on.
Take one of your favourite cars how many tracks can you have an enjoyable races with it on?

Half of those available would be reasonable while making money offline.
We don't actually need more content what we need is to be able to use some of the existing stuff.

Take the Hudson it was a fun enough car to start a race career & they are only short races so it should only take 20 minutes or so to find out.

Not tried but assume it races competitively for you in the top races of the novice league.
The lower races its probably to easy as cars / AI are probably worse.
Next league up cars & AI are a bit harder so its not competitive.

IF that's the case you can use it on 3 out of 81 tracks

Not even touched the fact someone might want to do a longer race & have tyre wear.

So my virtually infinite choice comes down to 3 tracks at XXX number of laps (away from my playstation)

Once you do this exercise, what exactly will we learn from it other than how many cars can enter how many races (which I didn't realize anyone cared about until this thread)?

I hear you, friend, but the "option" is called an event creator and you should throw your weight behind established threads begging for one. Because PD thinks we're quite fine having arcade mode and online room creation as the other options for otherwise useless cars in this game.
