Lay-deez an’ gen’lemen, welcome to the umpteenth staging of the contest to find Japan’s best 4x4 supersaloon, a contest that has been fought out so often you probably feel you know the contenders intimately.

We give you in the blue corner the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and in the yellow corner the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII.

Both weigh in at 276bhp and under 40,000cr this contest will be fought out over three rounds, starting at SSR5, where they’ll tackle the dry and wet handling circuit before moving onto the crucial deciding round on the demanding SSR 11 for a 5 lap race.

Round 1 – SSR5 dry - hotlap
Round 2 – SSR5 wet – hotlap
Round 3 – SSR11 – race- arcade mode - hard - 5laps - fastest lap must be 100% clean

Close between the two. Currently only managed about 10 laps in both cars. Haven't tried the race yet. Had to get a time for race series sorted.
