Each year since 2008. The Clipsal 500 (which is the 3rd round in 2010 of Australias V8 Supercar Series) has been home to an exhibition of some of the worlds finest cars. Now unfortunately i accidententally deleted all my photos from last years race but give me another 3 months and I should have some photos of various Lamborghinis, a Yellow Pagani Zonda, a Porsche 959 and a Carrera GT, various Astons, Ferraris, maseratis and other supercars. It was spectacular when they brought a black Veryon from France. All the cars do a few laps of the old Adelaide Grand Prix Circuit each day. 2008 also saw the 959 clip a wall and a Koenigsegg CCX blow up. The Clipsal 500 is an event that everyone should see.

Trust me, they're not that interesting. Especially because they take after many American muscle cars: loads of power but they can't take a corner worth ****.

So wait, touring cars just suck in general then? I think the V8's are great, I'm happy we're getting coverage here in the States this year, I'll finally be able to keep up. When does the season get underway the 14th of February?

Oh is that why Japanese time attack cars with 100+kw more, more downforce and a few hundred kilos less weight only lap in similar times on their semi-slicks to V8 Supercars?

HAHAHAHAHAH. Ohhhhhh the hilarity.

You seriously think they're based of muscle cars?

Dude - the shell is the only thing that bears any slimilarity to a muscle car (albeit an Australian muscle). I don't follow V8SCs very closely, but I know that handling is a huge factor and the under pinnings of the car is completely designed for track use - hence good handling. I truly would like to see your face after a hot lap in one.
Take a Nissan R35 GTR, and get a modern V8SC, give them the same power and run them round a track. Do you honestly think the GTR will win?
Your right in saying they didn't corner in the 60s and 70s, but today it is a whole different ball game.

Nothing cornered in the 60s and 70s.:p Those Touring Car Masters still rock pretty hard though.:)

Is there a point to this? And what does Murray Walker have to do with anything?

For some reason, Murray Walker just keeps coming back to Clipsal each year so they dedicated the exhibition to him and No there really isn't any serious point to this topic other than mentioning the Clipsal 500 and some nice cars. I apologise if this inconvienences (unsure if spelt right) anyone.

they are more interesting than any exotic cars. And muscle cars that can't corner worth a damn are incredibly more interesting than any exotic car AND the V8 supercars.
