Nothing a few runs on NY can't fix. I go between that and my Highway Child recreation. I normally have podcasts and movies as background noise while I grind.
It's a slow way to build cash, but I hate grinding and have a lot of races still to complete on Hard and Ace difficulty, so I run through a few of those each week for cash, usually stacking them with Racer hobbies - I still have many weeks of races to complete at this pace.
For example this week I am doing Touring Car races on Hard with my one single Touring bike ready for next week's Summit. Once I get the biker nitro set from that Summit, it should make the Ace difficulty easier to run through. Plus I will have 3 more bikes to use.
This is stacked with the "x miles on a bike" and "x minutes at 155mph on a bike" hobbies.
I dont play too much each week of any game, to avoid boredom/burn out. Plus I alternate the hobbies I do, e.g. I still have 15 of the Mitsubishi/Nissan races to do for that hobby.
I won't recommend it but I got a few millions doing 1000+ skills and finally completed the Explorer Hobbies. I probably won't touch any skills for the rest of my life. 😂
Joking, it wasn't that bad. You're (s)killing it and Off the Road, Jack took a while ngl.
That's an impressive achievement 👏
For now, I've just cleared the easier Explorer Hobbies and am 50 stars from getting the car. I did grind the "beat <game character>s ghost 50 times" over a couple of weeks recently, as I only had a few left to do for each race type anyway and had accumulated a "Score" booster set for a few vehicle types.
I am leaving some of the Hobbies until end game when the Summits end and when I have all the vehicles.
For the 1,000 skills x4 hobbies, there are 3 each week in the Summit, plus I do a few more to get the "15 skills" stars each week. At 15 skills per week, I should complete those 4,000 skills in... gets calculator... just under 2 years time
More realistically, at the end of the final summit, I will have x skills left to complete those hobbies and will grind the rest at that point. But by then, hopefully it will be a lot less than 4,000
I am also leaving the Stories until I have all the cars purchased that I can get in the store and don't need credits anymore.
Of course, Ivory Tower are building up all the Challenges and Custom Mode for me to run through in TCM as well.
So far, I've managed not to "burn out" on TC2 or TCM (about 15 months played...).
For me, the limited hours each week helps keep me interested in these games for much longer.
Wow, thats a long post...!
