This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

The Crew Motorfest Season 9 Hands-On: NASCAR Steals the Show

Season 9 of The Crew Motorfest is almost here and it promises to be the most ambitious effort for Ubisoft’s open-world racer yet. With such a claim on the line, GTPlanet has been getting some one-on-one time with the upcoming season through a preview code provided by Ubisoft for PC...

Sucks that the official liveries are paywalled...
EDIT I've now read the Ubisoft article and can see that they're not available for everyone in the shop a week later, as that is the norm.

But at least there are no physical differences in vehicles (they are just liveried versions of the base cars).

@Terronium-12 it would be helpful to know whether liveries can be applied to the base cars as, if they can, someone will inevitably recreate the paywalled liveries on the base cars anyway.

The cost of 188,000 CC for the full pack is £15.99 as that is the price for 220,000CC.
The next one down is 100,000CC which would cover 2 of the mini packs individually (if you only wanted Toyota or Ford) but not the main one (Chevrolet).

@Terronium-12 shouldn't this thread be in the Crew forum?

Fantastic article!

You can definitely apply the pre-made liveries and even run them without a livery, so I can only presume they can be painted.

I should have checked for that specifically but it didn't cross my mind, unfortunately.

Well, we will all know the answer in a few hours anyway.

Although if the base cars can be painted, I'm not sure many people will buy the CC packs?

Thanks for moving the thread across.

Also, here's the launch trailer for more season 9 goodness:

Small update: The Dark Horse can be customized, livery and all, however, the other stock cars have the option locked.

The caveat is the game tells me I need to finish the Tour to unlock full customization options. Whether or not that includes liveries for the other cars I can't say as I didn't finish the tour.

Update is 25.70 GB on Series S and 34.70 GB on Steam, the difference presumably being better textures on PC.

Thanks for the update @Terronium-12

Iam all over the track editor cant wait to put something together with it, hope the interface and scope of it are optimal. I never thought a crew game would be my most favourite driving game this generation... 5x times more hours on it than GT7, its just been a captivating GAAS model roll-out... counting the minutes down til the server kicks in!

Made me first track in the forge, really intuitive / easy process. Really excited to see what the community conjours up.
First effort share ID: 000013642
Tyre wear race incorporating Eau Rouge, Monaco & Corksrew! Love the presets you can exacerbate some classic corners my Eau Rouge variant is like a big dipper on entry lol. Delighted!

Great, will try it out later.

I've set up a separate thread for the Trackforge, so that people can easily see good tracks that people find and they don't get lost among the general posts here.

The only thing keeping this game from being perfect for me is not having any Subaru's in the game. I would like to drive some WRX STI's......I really wish they put more effort to get them back. I'm stuck driving Mitsubishi Evo's haha

NASCAR races are annoying.

I'm constantly being spun around by the opponent.

Plus, driving against or with the opponents feels strange.
If you're in front, you have no way to build a lead.
If you're behind, you catch up in no time and are in first place, only to then be unable to pull away from the rest of the field.
But you do get bumped every now and then when going into a corner.
