The DriverSports Championship Series is our flagship series, held on Friday nights at 9pm Eastern, consisting of 1 hour races in the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s. With full damage, our newly developed caution procedures, championship points, week long qualifying, and the ability to accommodate all comers with multiple divisions, we hope to offer drivers an authentic race experience that fosters a healthy environment of competition for drivers of all skill levels.

You read that right. We have developed a caution procedure that can be operated by the racers, so despite the heavy damage in effect, your race night won’t be over after a big shunt, and you won’t unexpectedly catch limping cars in awkward places on the race track.. There will also be the usual regrouping of the field behind the safety car, and yes, sometimes there will even be an actual safety cars pacing the filed, lights and all.

Our events are designed to operate across multiple race rooms to accommodate every driver that signs up. We use week long qualifying to establish divisions, meaning you’re paired up against racers of a similar pace. The more people that come out to race, the tighter the racing action will be. Despite the divisions, every driver will have a shot at finishing high in the final standings as our unique scoring system combines your total race time with those from the other divisions to determine the overall finishing order of the race day. So not only are you racing the other drivers in your lobby, but you’re also up against every other driver in every other room.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 is an iconic race car, especially to fans of Gran Turismo and GT Academy. Represented in-game with 2 different liveries, a base model and a blank, paintable car, we have a unique opportunity to utilize the different versions as prizes or indicators. Details are not yet final, but for example, the RJN, Youtube liveried versions could be exclusive to GT Academy alumni, while the previous seaon’s champions would have exclusive right to the Schulze version, newcomers would be in the blank version and the rest would run the Base Model.

The DriverSports Sporting Drivers Code will establish the rules to race by. Oversight of the racing action will be done by deeply experienced sim racers who are fair and unbiased. Unsportsmanlike driving will be met with reasonable penalties and sanctions.

There will be a ‘Pre Season’ race Feb 28, and the championship will begin the following week. This series will break for the World Series events.

If all goes well I hope to be able to offer a nice little prize for the champion, to commemorate their triumph on the virtual race track.

Watch this space for more details and please let us know if you’re interested or have any questions or concerns. Events will be held in the DriverSports club, which is private, so please post here or message me for an invite. My PSN ID is spelled Forgetfui, the last letter is an i not an L.

Been a fun Series ForgetfuI. Hard to believe we're down to the last two tracks! Spa and Suzuka are two of my favorites. I didn't realize you had the Series posted here or I would have been contributing to the thread all along.
