Wow...took awhile for you to get back here, huh?

I know a guy who works at the DSM plant. (Now Mistubishi Motors, Normal, IL.) The Eclipse is still produced there, but now the Galant and Endeavor are, too, as are the Sebring and Avenger. I think they even do the Raider.

Yeah, the product line has slipped a bit. Interesting to think, though, that some part on your cars was touched/assembled by a guy I know.

and he's not responsible for Crank Walk...the engines, I believe, are shipped in from Japan, and installed in the cars in 30 seconds. Other neat features include that they mold their own bumpers...or used to, in the days of 2Gs, and could change their stamping press tooling out in two hours. that's a one-shift operation at most plants.

They even have those cool AGV things. the automatic guided vehicles, you know?

Yeah, I've been to the Mitsubishi plant in Bloomington-Normal, IL numerous times for the Factory MOD events. Its kinda the Mecca and Medina for DSM guys as its the birth place of every DSM ever made. Lucky for me its less than an hour from my house.

Best of all, I might have an internship lined up at the plant for this summer! Its not 100% sure yet, but its looking pretty good. Needless to say, I'm pretty damn excited. :)

I live less than a half-hour away!

If you're ever in the Peoria area, and you see a silver '88 Chevy Nova with black wheels...that's mine. Also, guy named Greg Wassi, that's the guy I know who works there.

i just got a 96 eclipse Rs unforutnalty its a rs the cheapset model but imma work with it imma put pictures up of it soon.

wow. how did i miss this!! didn't know there were DSMers' around here until Zmann42087 told me about this place.

Hey, GVR4!

I think I see a frontmount hidden in there... MAF as well, or did they come with it stock?

I haven't updated in a while...

I've done a little

And found some lows... And fresh skin.
4033290655_c8b0ae62be_o.jpg

I'm probably forgetting a few things, but...

-Spare wheels + tires (All season, summer, and beater/gravel/snow}
-Tein springs that are entirely too soft, paired with KYB AGX's
-Rear sway bar
-Free mods
-2.5" exhaust
-K&N
-SPEC 2+ clutch and Fidanza flywheel
-Rebuilt trans w/ double synchro 2nd
-Turbosmart eBoost 2
-Water/meth injection
-2G 'big brakes'
-Pocketlogger (OBD datalogger)

And numerous maintenence items and small mods not worth mentioning.

Needs new front struts... AGX's are destroyed thanks to a poor choice of spring and bumpstop.
I'm thinking Koni Yellows for the front, leave the AGX's in the rear. I'd like some Ground Control sleeves this year.
Would like to upgrade the exhaust... A properly made 2.5" would be fine, but the one on it now just sucks.
Needs a fuel system - Fuel pump, AFPR, probably 650cc injectors, and socket+chip the ecu to make it all work.
Needs new summer tires this year - Azenis are dead. Probably Bridgestone RE-11 or Dunlop Direzza Star Specs.

If I can get fuel + suspension sorted out this year I'll be happy. Not looking for massive power... If I were to get 250 awhp I'd be happy. Handling is more important to me.

Beautiful car, 2of9! Thanks for sharing!

You've got to love a Group-A homologation special like the Galant VR4. The amazing thing is unlike some it's contemporaries (think E30 M3), it can be had for a decent price these days. So few people even really know what it is though. Truly one of the best kept secrets in the used car market. What a gem! 👍

that seems like a reasonable goal.. you're still on the stock 14b I assume?

.

14b.
I've got a spare hotside to port and swap in if I ever decide to remove the turbo... Minimal shaft play, but oil fittings seep a little.

Yay VR4. So sweet. I see a few sly mods there, what have you done to it?

for mods, E316g, 2g mani, 550, 190 fuel pump, s-afc, mas from a 95-96 summit, greddy profec-b BC, and some other tasteful mods. I'm planning to get a set of Lancer Evolution 8 suspension for the galant, it's a 'basic' bolt once I put the top hats from the galant onto the evo 8 struts so I'm quite excited about going to some autocrossing events this summer! :D

So 2of9 is that a 6 bolt or 7?
all the Galant VR4's came with the 6 bolt in the US.

thanks again for the nice comments guys. 👍

Not bad, I've always thought about getting pillar gauges for my truck.

Those wheels look better than the black ones you had.
