Check out this hole in Russia. It started out as a small mudpool, and has since grown out to be a huge crater. Scientist don't know what it is. But I do! The earth is consuming itself. OR ALTERNATIVELY: the universe is collapsing.

RUN AWAY FROM THE HOLE.

Okay let's try this again.

Hey, you deleted my posts!

Also, this is a strange phenomenon. I wonder what is happening... it must be a sign of the end times.

EDIT: But seriously, how do you expect us to take such a subject as Earth consuming itself seriously. Seriously!

maybe a lack of denisty under that part of the ground caused it?

...last two links aren't working for me, but the first one does. It's a massive sinkhole, prolly caused by a ruptured water-main.

How is it any different from growing mountains?

that is, if it's not just a sinkhole like crimson said.

10 bucks you can see Rosie O'donell at at the bottom of it

OT: Thats one hell of a sink hole

You couldn't fit her. That's a far too small hole for Rosie O. Were talking grand canyon for that waistline. :scared:

That was mean, I shouldn't have said that....but I did. :dopey:

Yeah, that's just a big sink hole. Or, since it's so close to the ocean, it could be the end of one of those underwater caves that reach out under land, and eventually break through.

EDIT: after looking at those last couple pictures I've decided it's not a crazy underwater cave. That's a huge ass crater, that's what that is.

That is one hell of a gorge opening up there, I sure wouldn't like to be the owner of any nearby buildings or that is going to be a valley in no time. Do you know what time period this has happend over?

Anyone seen any of these in the Russia area?

And no, not the crazy couch jumping Scientologist.

Yes. That first picture (with the small mudpool) was taken in July... of this year. So 4 months. :scared:

It's the lemings attacking :irked:

On a serious note, people, please thing of the Potato sales!!

And also, answer found...
Russian-based potash producer Silvinit said Thursday that it may have to suspend all potash rail shipments after a sinkhole created earlier in the year by the collapse of a neighboring mine expanded by another 30 meters on Oct. 24.

Yeah, we get stinkholes instead.

In soviet russia, hole digs you!

A friend sent to me another set of photos of something similar, however nothing else is known about it apart from that it was (apparently) caused by an earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Check post #22 for link. :)

I bet if you jump in, you'll eventually pop out in Sparta.

^^^Holy crap!!! Do they know how deep that thing is? I can't see the bottom at all in any of those pictures.

Yeah I remember reading about that in FHM some months ago. Scary to imagine that just suddenly pops up when a few sewers collapse..
