The breakdown:

Legit Reviews
SEGA has agreed to purchase Relic, developer of Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.

Koch Media (owner of Dead Island publisher Deep Silver) has agreed to purchase Saints Row developer Volition as well as the publishing rights to the Metro franchise.

Crytek, who is currently developing Homefront 2, has purchased the rights to the Homefront franchise.

Take-Two (parent company of 2K and Rockstar) has agreed to purchase Turtle Rock Studios’ project codenamed Evolve.

Ubisoft has purchased the rights to publish South Park: The Stick of Truth (pending any further objections from South Park Studios) as well as THQ Montreal, the current developer of Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets’ project codenamed 1666.

As of right now, it seems no one was interested in Vigil Games. Rumors are that the Darksiders property has been bought & that current Vigil employees are making tweets about employment, but who knows. I haven't heard anything about the WWE license, but I'm sure somebody picked it up. I'm sure we'll find out more in time.

Vigil Games, creators of the Darksiders games, is still up for grabs.

I've never quite understood how the Warhammer licence worked. Sega apparently already had it, but with this purchase they gain some other aspect of it?

That makes more sense.

Looking around a bit it sounds like THQ had the licence for this game, but Sega had it for future games. Now that Sega owns this developer, I guess the licence for this game transfers with the studio.

Oh man, I was really hoping Take Two would buy Volition and the Metro franchise... And I wonder if Ubisoft only wanted THQ Montreal just to make Patrice Desilets' life a misery? I heard he left Ubisoft on poor terms.

Still, very sad, THQ had some great games and they were one of the few publishers still taking risks. Had to wonder what they were thinking when they bet their future on the sequel to an infamously hardcore game and an RTS, but they were pretty poorly managed so that's not hugely surprising. I mean there was the whole uDraw eff-up and all that talk of the Red Faction TV series too... Oh well. Maybe Koch will let Volition do as they please and keep producing good Saints Row games and better Red Faction ones. Guerilla was great fun though.

Rest in Peace THQ.

HOWEVER! I still want to know what happened to the $5 million from their 'Humble Bundle' Steam sale?

Well the Humble Bundle lets you donate some to the developers, some to charity and some to Humble Bundle Inc. themselves, and then the amount that goes to the developers (or THQ in this case) has to be divided amongst the studios... So even if that $5m was the total that went to THQ, THQ themselves didn't get the whole lot because of developer royalties. However much that leaves might've kept THQ going for a month or two, but in reality when you see publishers losing millions each year it's hardly surprising that a publisher whose shares are worth less than the paper they're printed on would still be out of business that quickly.

Disclaimer: I've only just woken up so this might be nonsense, when my other eye feels like opening I might read through it again.
