Face it, any of you older FoMoCo or Mopar drivers out there have been at least once beaten by a big, bad Camaro or Trans Am. This thread celebrates the F-Body in all its glory. Whether it's a F-1 ('67-'69), F-2('70-'80), F-3 ('81-'92), or F-4 ('93-'02), the Camaro and Firebird always delivered the goods in a truly American style with rumbling pushrod V8s (and sometimes turbo sixes! ) and sleek coupe bodies. Post your F-Body pics here and join the club :)

I can honestly say I have never been beaten by a "big bad" Camaro or Trans Am. The few that I have raced were pups with only a couple bolt-ons.

The late 60's Camaros are gorgeous cars, I look forward to owning one.

I've owned a few. Six speed '97 Z28, six speed '99 Z28, and six speed '97 WS6. Decently quick cars when stock, crazy when modded. The WS6 was pretty damn quick after a mild head/cam package + nitrous. Too bad I only drove it like that for two weeks before I drove it into a ditch.👍

I've only been beated by one - a turbo'd '01 SS, to be exact. I didn't stand a chance considering I drove an S2000 at the time, but it was just a race for ****s & giggles, anyhoo. With my latest car nitroused LS1's were a joke, cammed LS1's were a joke, etc. The closest race I had, however, was from a head/cam nitrous'ed '02 WS6 on ET streets. It was down in Mississippi. From a stop he'd instantly pull 2 cars on me, because of his ET streets vs. my Eagle F1's, and that was it. From any kind of roll he got spanked.

Definitely badass cars, and I have a lot of respect for them when modded right. Wouldn't mind owning another one - preferably a SOM 6 speed '02 WS6.

I have a Metallic Green/Black roof '95 Z28 with just breathing mods/ short shift. Its really drunk with torque, and the Flowmaster gives it a nice voice.

Its a blast! But its getting up there miles-wise and I really like the new G35 Coupes, and they have similar performance.

So, you're the neighbor next door who owns the Grand National X?
(Yeah, I know, how low can I go; a GM fan bashing Buick)

The throaty rumble from the SLP WideMouth exhaust isn't hard to miss, either. Or remember :trouble:

my dad and i are working on turning a 89 Camaro into a full-on dragster. We took it to RaceLegal a couple of times and did some damage....

v. S2000 - loss
v. civic hatch 94 - win
v. RSX-s - win (close one too!)
v. 240Z - win
v. 94 Camaro Z28 - loss
v. prelude - N/A ( he blew a gasket halfway down)

here are some pics of the F3 camaros

Holy God - aside the first-generation models, from 1970 to 2002 - 32 years, mind you - the vehicle underwent a redesign three times? That's more than ten years per design. No freakin' wonder the thing got cancelled - talk about pathetic from GM. Keep in mind that the Honda Accord has been redesigned three times since 1994 (a span which, given the chance I'm sure, the F-body would've had just one design). And since the Accord sedan came out in 1979, it's seen seven designs (79-81, 82-85, 86-89, 90-93, 94-97, 98-02, 03-present; GM take note). I don't believe GM - how utterly awful. I think that this thread, designed to praise the car, has probably turned my opinion of it around for the absolute worst.
