This is not a thread for negativity directed at Codemasters or F1 2011. If you have something negative to say about the game, please use one of the many threads already created for this purpose.

Those of us who are really enjoying this game need a place to congregate and share our appreciation for F1 2011. I am a PS3 user myself (oh god, not the graphics!), and I still regard F1 2011 as the best racing experience I have ever had on a console.

My favorite things about F1 2011, off the top of my head:

- improved AI, finally a real challenge
- career mode with Williams and Force India, beautiful cars/liveries
- Time Attack
- "full grid" for multiplayer
- multiplayer ranking system
- track surfaces are more detailed
- KERS/DRS add a new dimension to quali's and time trials

Outside of the knock in graphics the PS3 version took this year, I would have nothing negative to say about this game whatsoever, unless I came here digging through threads for things to complain about. I look forward to continuing to enjoy it for quite some time.

Share your appreciation here for F1 2011. Cheers.

- The audio, whether it be during a replay (oh my the replays!) or during the actual race, hot lap, or time trial are just fan-bloody-tastic!

- The improved physics. I love how progressive things are now.

- The rain effects are better.

- I could (just as I did with 2010) do nothing but hot lap all day long and get my money's worth.

- Mods (PC). :D

I love the game as I did with F1 2010 and as I do with the sport of Formula 1 in general. However I hate these kind of threads which are a place for people to go to in ignorant bliss and have a big love-in while attempting to deny people their rightful opinion on a public forum

I'd have to say I'm quite happy with 2011. I wanted better gameplay and thats exactly what we got. Not that 2010 was terrible gameplay, but 2011 proves it can be better and theres a bunch added to the gameplay:

Pirelli tires- The tire wear, strategy during race if you save your option tires are brilliant. Also can no longer use prime/option tires after it begins to rain.
Physics- Literally leaps and bounds better than 2010. I get great satisfaction from catching the car every now and then. Like how you can attack the kerbs, but there is a limit on the taller kerbs. Nice.
AI- Again far ahead of 2010. On legend ai they are fast. Really fast. Actually challenges me and they race smart and fair.
Safety Car- Haven't had one yet, but is a must any F1 fan who plays the game.
KERS/DRS- Love it. Its not overdone and works seemlessly in the gameplay. This also adds great strategy to the race on each lap depending if you're trying to pass for position or stuck behind a lapper and need a little boost down a straight to get by.

Just did the Monaco race in my career and it is awesome. Monaco is much improved this year. Absolutely loved racing there. I would cringe while playing 2010 at Monaco. Also I know the graphics have been a big topic for the ps3(I play on ps3), but I felt at times Monaco looked very good. Much better than the previous 5 races.

The racing line this year looks alot more believable. The wet to dry or dry to wet racing line is much improved too. You can see it much better when it starts to dry out and just looks better.

In closing, thanks Codies. The gameplay is great. Maybe even enough to say one of the best as far as gameplay. I'll play this for a while to come.

I'm another (unlucky) PS3 owner and this is my first F1 title.

What I love is how challenging this game is, I only know a few of the tracks so I first went to Monza and It took me ages to get the chicane right without locking up the front wheels.

Throw me on any of the tracks I don't know and I need a full 90 minute practice session before I can do a decent lap.

The AI is the best I have seen. In my first Monza GP I made a good pass under brakes into the final corner and thought I had cleared him but he hung on the outside and overtook me down the straight! I think it's important to give the AI room to see their full potential. They won't risk damaging their car too often so if your not giving them room they wont try to pass you.

The engine sounds omg CM are by far the champions of engine sounds. Beautiful.

The handling of the cars is also amazing, I'm using a DFGT on basically the standard settings and it felt great straight away. Only thing i'm having trouble with is modulating the brakes. The intensity during races is full on, I'm only doing 10-12 lap GP's and I'm struggling to keep up my concentration.

I admit the frame rate and graphics are a let down, but some people clearly have buggered consoles because both PS3 and XBOX owners are reporting this issue and mine isn't as bad as they say. I didn't buy this game because I wanted to look at eye candy, I wanted to be an F1 driver!

Engine sounds are fantastic. If you get a chance to pick up a copy of F1 Championship Edition, it's well worth it for the same reason. The engine sounds in that game are monstrous.

Still haven't tried online co-op in 2011.

The off-throttle, the overall mechanical rasp, or both? It's possible to get the off-throttle effects but the mechanical rasp would probably require a lot of resources.

F1 2013 on the PS4/Xbox 3.

Everything, man. Everything.

As much as i hate to say this, but as a PS3 User..there is nothing to appreciate.
After all the hype and nonsense from codemasters, theyve delivered a game which is clearly broken in the graphics department

@Jerry786 - You misunderstood this thread and I clearly see your 'RAGE' about the graphics. Understandable but we DO appreciate they IMPROVED the game since F12010.

I agree 👍 :)

I am using PS3.

Things I like about f2011

You can really tweak the g27 to the max. some handling programs can be taken care of right there. all the buttons work unlike gt5 which I love.

The graphic. initially i had contrast and brightness to high on my plasma tv which was professionally calibrated. It was washing out colors, and blasting fine details for this game. graphics are good for weather conditions overcast and raining. clear and partly cloudy is just too bright and kills lighting and shadow details.

some of the AI are cool but the cars from the top teams will fight you for position but I always get the penalty that is fun.

Thanks for including automatic transmission no way i can change gears that fast and remember what gear i am in or should be in. and braking spot and kers and blocking. Maybe if they could make the gear more prominent on the screen someway but these cars are just too fast to be looking for gear confirmation on the corner of the screen

Tunes are mated to the track not the car. so with minor tweaking you can use any car from any team

Also for the complaints, this is appears to be one of those games that will come out every year so they will be improving every year.
