I bought a Nissan Skyline GT-R M-Spec Nur and gave it all the top performance parts and a spoiler. i then lowered the suspension and downforce to the max and made the auto settings for the transmission 25. i then competed in 'Like The Wind', my opponents were a Nissan R92CP, Audi R8, Bentley Speed 8, Gillet Vertigo and a Chaparral 2D. The settings for the gearbox gave it really slow accelerration but when i finally caught up with them i slipstreamed them at 259mph (i could have gone faster but i ran out of track). it also shows its easier than you think to win 'like the wind' in a nissan skyline.

259? You've got a lot of work to do yet...

Well... there was certainly more to be had! I wonder what the Skyline Squadron are going to think about this...

Guess I just made that sweet spot a whole lot sweeter. I think I can get more from the car too, as I was trying something a little different to usual when I hit this run, and I've not spent time fine tuning it yet. 👍

And all that without the use of slipstream....

Hmm ... a 325mph Skyline?

I'm beginning to think that those who argue convincingly for the physics in GT4 being claptrap may well have a point.

Those who argue for the physics of GT4 have clearly never visited the 300mph Club ;)

We know damn well that the physics engine is hugely flawed... We've probably tested it considerably further than Polyphony ever did. That car will go faster than that, too - beyond a certain point in the Skylines, the speed starts to increase almost exponentially. Realistic? Hmm.. :odd:

It'd work with about 1900hp, give or take.

i'd say about a full 2500hp

I ran the maths with ballpark figures.

Rolling Resistance = 1.35% of weight = 46lb
Air Resistance = Coefficient of friction x Coefficient of drag x Frontal Area x Speed x Speed = 2052lb
Total Resistance = 2098lb
Power required = Resistance x Speed/375 = 1819hp

Allowing for drivetrain losses, that's about 2400hp at the crank.

I’m curious about how they were able to make it run 325mph. Best performance parts aren’t enough? Then what more? I’ve also seen a powerful Audi R8 with those link removed, very possible to beat that 259mph Nissan Skyline. But I guess not the one with 325mph. Hmmm… Very interesting to see the car personally. :D

The way to get over 300? Exploit the cars flaws in the way it handles aerodynamics. Another good example is the 3000GT, though obviously not as extreme as it is most likely a smoother car but is still slower.

You realize we're talking about a videogame, right?

Also, advertising is against the AUP, but since I'm not sure if it was intentional, I won't report you.

It's okay. Just know that advertising is against the AUP, and from personal experience, there's a significantly higher risk of getting flamed if you don't read the whole thread.

oh... Sorry... It wasn't my intention.
Yes it was. Bye bye.

Sakiale, and everyone else, please do report any other posts you see like that one. They are advertisers, but they're trying to make you think they're not.

Hi, I tried to beat 300mph yesterday, but unsuccessful, I did only 280mph, and changed settings and tried, nothing better i can get. It`s hard to get these last 20mph. Can someone please write his setup for Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II Nur max tuned (911hp) that can go 300+mph ?? Searched a lot, but can`t find! Please post. Thank You

Greens, look in my sig and there's a link to my setups over on GtVault. One of them just happens to be my 342mph setup for that particular variant of the Skyline.

Hope it all works out and if you have any questions just give me a PM and I'll do what I can to help.

Searched a lot, but can`t find!
I have to wonder how hard you searched, to be able to miss the largest Gran Turismo thread on the entire board, with a rather leading title... Which also happens to be at the very top of this forum right now. Asking there would probably get you a little further... After all, the guys in there know one or two things about high-speed tuning by now.

Hi Pyrelli, I tried your setup from GTVault, BUT, I don`t know how this is possible. Did all like in your setup. Gone and after corner, when i see straight, i start to use NOS, and best i can do is 280mph. In 6th gear it accelerates so slowly, that for me the straight is too short. I do all corner in 5th gear and approx 380km/h (approx. 237mph) and then I switch into 6th and push nos button, and max 280mph. What`s the secret??? No bumps on margins or slippery during cornering, only perfect ride!!!

Well, if the car is redlining in 5th, SHIFT INTO 6TH!

Also, I find that hitting the spray just after the beginning of the fencing on the outside of the track helps as well.

Ah, well you've probably never managed to get the car to chatter before so you don't know what to expect but trust me, when it happens you'll know.

There is no paraticular secret to the setup, no lines in particular will make the car do it (though some obviously help more than others), the setup is what makes the car chatter and even then it might not happen. You can understand I don't want to say here what I think makes the car do it but look at the setup and try to understand what it's trying to achieve. Keep at it and it will work, eventually - but if it doesn't PM me and I'll tell you what I think is the problem.

If I'm honest I'm suprised the max you've got even without the shakes is 280mph, I've consistently done 300mph even without the shakes in the full sense.

This is the exact setup I used to get my speed on the 300mph leaderboard. You could try asking MasterStorm and I-Runner for their setups but I doubt they'll be giving those out any time soon and keep in mind it is quite a silly thing to do seeing as even my speed is pretty close to the record let alone theirs.

Using this setup you're already much closer to gettting over 300mph in a skyline than most; it figures why not many people really get to those speeds since it takes quite a bit of work first ;)

This is easier said than done, until you have a firm grasp of 4WD physics in GT4... ;)
It is interesting, though, that your setup is only reaching 280mph or so - at least three-quarters of this car's speed is in the setup, unlike some.

I still have to question why this is in its own thread, so that other people coming to the 300mph Club thread might not read this and thus ask the question again (and again and again), but, as you like it. :indiff:

Hi All,

Rotary Junkie - I`m shifting when 5th gear comes to redline!

Pyrelli - Thanks for advice, but what means "car chatter" ? Sounds like something unrealistic!! How can I get my Skyline chatter? I have to do special moves with car? Sorry but looking on setup I don`t understand what should this car do on road. I drove lots of times, and as clear as I can and as I said only 280mph and thats all! So there is a secret - chattering. Haven`t seen it, but is it realistic?

Dark Elite - Because we talk about specific car - Skyline, how to achieve 300+ mph. In thread 300mph Club, try to find info for specific car, there is so many pages that you need weeks to read all this. I think easier is to find a thread named fastest skyline and then I know that there won`t be full of info about other cars. For sample, I won`t look in thread fastest supra ever, if i`m driving skyline. In each thread you can share your setups and there won`t be mess of setups for many cars!
I think 300mph club thread should look like this:

- 300mph Club, results in first post, and then discussion only about results.
- 2nd post, links for new thread for car discussion - skylines, supras, subaru, and so on..
Then it would be easier to navigate and find info! But now when everything is in one thread, its really hard to find info you need! Search that thread - try! I tried to search that thread for skyline setup, skyline max speed, skyline 300mph etc. Ehh.. :)

The real reason why I put up the setups was to try and help people understand what is happening, which I guess as you've said, is probably harder than I first throught.

If its not a problem then I could probably copy the main parts of this and put them on the Three Hundred Miles Per Hour thread.

All chatter means is a mechanical vibration, if you think it's a particular secret then you've thought too far into it. You ask if it's realistic but think again what you're trying to do - put a Skyline past 300mph. The chatter/shakes is a means of doing this with all the wheels on the ground, making it the most realistic option for 4WD high speed tuning.

Remember that these setups didn't come over night and as seen on GtVault they are progressively updated. I understand it's hard but try to grasp what the setup is trying to achieve first.

Pyrelli

Edit: I should also have said that you can't really make the car chatter, the setup will do it itself given the chance; just imagine if it was that easy we'd all be running 370+ mph ZZIIs.

Setup is made that car start to shake, so I have to drive this course even 100 times and maybe one of these races my car will start to shake and i`ll be able to get over 300mph?

Do your car shakes every time when you do a 300mph run? Is this experience or luck to get car shake?

I don`t understand actually this thing!
