CALLING ALL THUGS:

So, you think you're hot stuff? You can steal the hubcaps off an Enforcer while it's still moving? You can do moves in a Yardie Lobo that would put the Solid Gold Dancers to shame? You've outrun the FBI in a Manana so many times they're thinking of switching cars to try and keep up? Okay smart guy (or girl), let's see just how good you are. Here's the deal:

Easy Credit Autos has been having trouble keeping up with the high demand for those trendy new vehicles everyone wants, so they're looking for someone who can supply them with some "pre-owned" models. If you're up to the task, then you have 24 hours to pick up as many of these vehicles as you can:

*Landstalker
*Stinger
*Sentinel
*Banshee
*Blista

They won't ask any questions about how you got 'em, just drop 'em off in the Portland Docks parking lot and they'll take it from there. But remember that they have to be in fairly good shape, no one is going to buy a car with no fenders and only one door after all!

RULES:

Start at the parking lot of the Portland Docks. From the time you exit the docks, you have exactly 24 hours of game time (no more, no less) to locate and 'jack as many vehicles on the above list that you can find, then bring them back to the docks and leave them in the parking lot. (NOTE: In the case of the Banshee, stealing the one from the Easy Credit lot is not allowed. It defeats the purpose to steal cars from the car lot you're trying to supply!) Pay & Spray and the Shoreside Vale Import/Export Garage are okay to use, but remember you're on the clock.

To avoid raising suspicion, your wanted level must be at zero before entering the docks. Your employers won't like it if you drag a bunch of nosy cops in with you, they'll like it even less if they get caught because of it.

You'll get $2000 for each car that you bring back to the docks, but if there are parts missing from the car (knocked off fenders, torn off hood/trunk lid, etc.) then you only get $1000. Damaged parts won't be penalized unless there are 4 or more parts that are damaged, than you only get $1000. If more than three parts are missing off the car then it's worthless (you get no money and it doesn't add to your delivery count), so don't drive recklessly!

Also, no cheats allowed! If you're trying this challenge on the PC version, then no mods are allowed either! Gotta keep the playing field level, you know.

Feel free to post your best delivery counts and total earnings, but be honest... yes, I know it's strange to ask thieves to be honest, but nobody's impressed by a bald-faced liar.

Ok, what if the parts are damaged, but are still there? i.e. hood damaged, but still flapping around, fenders hanfing off but still intact etc. etc.

What about pay n' spray? is it legal?

Every minute in game is a real life second long. Every hour in game is a real life minute long, thus 12hrs in game = 12mins real life.

Yeah, it is pretty hard.. Maybe you should up it to 24?

Okay, you guys got a point. I edited the original post to add more time (I meant to put 24 in the first place, why the heck did I type 12?!), clear up the questions about the Pay & Spray and damaged parts, and add another rule that I forgot to put in the first time around.

these cars arent staunton only.

here's what i did in 12 hours (minutes), no pay n'sprays, or wanted level:

2 full landstalkers (no damage)
1 landstalker missing hatchback, and hood flopping around
1 landstalker missing both drivers side doors

2 full sentinels ( i was surprised by this, since i had to drive through mafia turf to get them and brin them back), also they WERE NOT mafia sentinels, jsut reg sentinels

1 blista, with drivers side door and hood flopping around

and several flipped landstakers that never made it back to the docks:D:D

total
$13,000- if parts that are damaged but still hangin on count as $2000

or

$11,000 if they dont

ill probably give this a go. im gonna set the mark for 24 mins but ill see what i have after 12.

maybe as a follow up to this you could set one for just the sports cars, as this would be less confusing to remember and give them different values.

ok, i decided to spend the first 12 mins heading to staunton, which always resulted in getting landstalkers. i got 7 of the crappy little things, with only one with any damage worth speaking of.

I make that $13,000

i then tried to be more original and head for the sentinal in mafia turf, jacked the car and then got blown up by 3 mafia dudes in front of me so i never got to complete the 24 mins.

NEW IDEA

using the cars there, i think we should give them a ranking system for how common and how good they are.

For example

Landstalker - $2000/$1000
Blista - $3000/$1500
Sentinal - $4000/$2000
Stinger - $5000/$2500
Banshee - $6000/$3000

i know that wouldn't work that well but it could be worked on...

by the way, using that method i still got $13000 and space would have $19000. i think that would be fairer as he had a harder job than me. (i was about 10 secs off getting another clean landstalker)

what do you think delray?

It is a good idea, and I was thinking of doing something like it later. I just felt that I'd try something a bit simpler in scoring for the first go-around to see whether there was any interest in this sort of competition. :)

As far as doing just sports cars, I'm not so sure. Considering they're little more than tin cans tied to bottle rockets it seems like the competition would end up with two types of results; the skilled drivers who can get a bunch of them to the drop-off point almost undamaged, and the not-so-skilled drivers who couldn't even get them around the corner without tearing them in half. I figured that picking more durable vehicles would give everyone a better chance at doing well.

fair comment, but people who can't drive that well aren't likely to compete in thios event anyway, and besides this is a gt3 website devoted to driving so i think most people can drive to a good standard anyway.

i was just thinking it would be easier to remember if it was sports cars, and more interesting for driving. i know wen i did this i completely forgot about the blista, and probably drove past a couple. its always possible that several comps could be run for different cars.

maybe you could try getting cars of a certain colour? or least time to get particular cars (like the import/export garages). initially i thought your challenge meant we had to get one of each, as this could be fun too.
