In GT5P if you go into the manual, page 11 (driving options) and read the part on tires they have a subsection. The subsection is titled "For a More Realistic Driving Experience" and explains that the following table gives the tire recommendations for each individual car that accurately simulates that car's handling in real life. It makes sense that some cars would normally be driving N3s and not S2s, and I like how this allows you to test the different cars against each other in their native state, so to speak.

Have any of the previous Gran Turismo games offered a table like this for the vehicles in the game? I am also wondering if they are going to be offering this sort of information for GT5. Personally, one of the things I like most about Gran Turismo is driving vehicles in the game and getting as realistic experience as possible to the vehicles in real life. Driving all the cars with S2 tires is not great in this respect, but for many cars I have no idea what tire is most representative of their real handling.

I like to think that something like the Mazda6 would have N2's on it, while the Ferrari 599 would probably come with S2's. Hard to say really, but that's just my best guess. 👍

This was discussed previously. The table was useful back in Spec I. But by Spec II and Spec III, PD had altered the characteristics of "S" tires to the point that the table was no longer accurate. S-tires in the later specs have more grip than in Spec I.
