The first poll to cover multiple different cars over a single generation or 'era'. Don't take the title too literally, they didn't all claim to have 276hp but it's a little nod to the cars in question - the Japanese cars that spearheaded the original Gran Turismo and got the ball rolling.

It's not a comprehensive poll of GT1's arcade mode nor of the Japanese domestic market at the time but hopefully a bit of levity at a time when the forum needs some.

Extremely tough to beat a Charlotte Green NSX, but I picked the FD. Loved the black BBS wheels on it in Gran Turismo. Made sure I had the RM in its alt colours. Especially the A-Spec FD. The different front clip sets it apart.

In the original game, it was and always will be the GTO, but in real life probably the R33 would be the pick - if not the Evo, if going for a daily driver.
 
Through my 90's GT(1)-tinted glasses, i pretty much love all of them.

But i think the NSX probably had the biggest effect on the supercars we have now. Before it, everyday practicality wasn't a thing in that segment, but the NSX showed that you could have a car that looked and drove like a Ferrari, but was relatively practical and useable like a Civic.
 
I'm not surprised that the NSX is so popular but I am surprised that the Supra hasn't picked up any votes in three full days.
 
I hate to make that comparison myself, but the truth is, for most people, the two most iconic cars from Fast and Furious are the Nissan and the Toyota,

But if we have to choose one, I reckon the Nissan would be the more popular one....

The current stat, the Nissan being equal to the Acura does not surprise me...
Either one is the correct answer, although the Acura is much later and better handling, but the Nissan having 4WD and much more capable in most environments and the ability to get monster power

So i would give the win to the Nissan by a hair...

The R34 GT-R isn't on the list so I'm choosing the FD RX-7. It narrowly beats out the NSX and R33 GT-R for me, mostly because of it's looks, rotary engine and fantastic handling. It's popularity as a drift car also helps it's cause in my opinion. If my drift car of choice wasn't a '69 Charger, it'd be an FD RX-7.
 
It seems like people forget the car Dom made his grand entrance to the Fast and Furious, was in the FD. Also, Han’s car of choice in Tokyo Drift. The FD in F2 didn’t have a good enough driver. :lol:
 
If we're going solely by Gran Turismo standards, it's either the GTO or the R33, both were miles ahead of everything else once upgraded, in fact I seem to recall the GTO was slightly better, but then it's been 27 years...

In everyday life however, it's the NSX.
 
Super tough decision, I chose the Supra because the 2JZ is such a beast and, as far as I am aware, the most reliable of the choices given. But I wouldn't say no to any of these cars.
 
My choice will always be the NSX for this group. It is the true supercar killer and was produced for the longest. Also, at least in GT, it had the best variety of colors. Honda developed it to prove their engineering against the world, just as they always had.
 
NSX for me.
It's my favourite japanese car ever, and it's always my preferred choice in any GT game in its class; not to mention all of the engineering that went into that car and its racing pedigree!
