The 3rd lap of each stint the front tires where over the edge of their grip no way that i can catch him. loosing aprox 2 - 3 secs each sector.

Couldn't push hard enough to catch him on the final lap cuz my fron tires were dead. got the gap down to 17 secs after his stop.

so that is unbelivable how fast thst R8 is No way you can win this race with such a car. The other thing is after I crossed the line for 2nd place and left the race screen. I saw something realy weird I got the prize money for the 1st Place, and also a gold cup on the race selection screen. I also aquired the prize car (R8 LMS Race Car) (can someone confirm this please) but i thaugt only the winner gets this or is it enough to finish on the lead Lap when the time is full ???
I Will propably not race this again anytime soon.
 
Good attempt mate, what aids were you using?
I am doing this one next but want it to be close, would you recommend a bit more bhp?
 
yea defo you a sitting duck on the straights, also the fairlady kills the front tires to fast no way you can doo a 4th lap on race meds, I had ABS on 3 and Tc also on everything else off. good luck for your run.
 
I will try on Racing hards then with just over 400bhp. If the fronts are bad ill turn TCS off after the start too to help balance the wear. What did you set max speed to? Were you anywhere near the redline?
 
Yes the LMS is damn fast, as well as the GT1 Turbo. If either of those is in the race you have to wear your big boy pants.

It is a known exploit that if you are the first to cross the line after the time expires, regardless of what position you are in, as long as you are on the same lap as the leader, you will be awarded first place money and xp and the gold trophy.
 
Sounds fairly similar to the 2010 Camaro I just beat the R8 LMS with finally, 530-something pp. That was pre-2.03 with him stopping every 3 laps but running out of tires on the third. He's faster now, but I have a couple minutes of mistakes to eliminate from my last run. Thinking about giving it a try this weekend -- 24 hour race last weekend, 24 hour race next weekend, might as well do an enduro of my own this week. :)

The first time I ran this race I lost by a minute and yet the game said I won, too. I lost later again and it got it right. When I won by 10 seconds a couple weeks ago, it said I won by 2 laps! It gave second to a Ruf I put a lap on in the last lap or two, despite me taking 1st on the final lap and watching the R8 pull into the pits in my rear-view. Something is just wrong with how that works. The long laps on the Nordschleife complicate the timing, but it is inexcusable for the game to not have a means to get the finishing order correct.

IMO maybe try to switch down one or two clicks since I was topping out at aprox 295 - 300 kmh (with a tow) 275 Km/h without. which is nowhere near enough you should go for aprox 300 - 310 km/h (190 Mph) on your own. that should doo the trick.
 
In this race don't the AI do suicide laps (laps on tires that are destroyed) meaning that the particular laptime is a good 2 minuites off the pace? :)
 
I ran it last night and there weren't any suiside laps, couple of the cars pitted after the first lap which i thought was odd. I did it with a skyline that was way too fast so want to re run it with a lower powerd car.

I have an M5 that needs the dust blowing off it?
